merlin Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Jets Shopping DE Abraham If we are going to spend our #1 pick on the DL, I'd seriously consider trading it the Jets for Abraham, who is a PROVEN NFL commodity, rather than the crap-shoot that is the draft.

apuszczalowski Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 If the jets would go straight up 1st pick for Abraham, then yes. Why not, hes proven, plays DE, a position we need help at, and has he not been to the Pro Bowl?
scribo Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 abraham's attitude sucks........anyone who values $$$ over an NFL playoff game doesn't belong on the roster....... 612725[/snapback] So we should get rid of Milloy then -- right? I believe so. Nah, Abraham is not worth the #8 pick in this year's draft. Wait 'em out, and then maybe offer next year's #1 for him. But I would think it unlikely for the Jests to trade him to a division rival.
colin Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 i don't think he is worth that much. i have got to assume someone will pay less, the jests can't afford him for one year and thus might cut him if no one pays up, so why pay big when he might just hit the market? if you trade you still have to negotiate a deal

FLFan Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Not worth a Number 1 straight up - especially the 8th pick. I would guess the Jets are trying to package him in a deal with the Texans for the #1 pick so they can take Leinhart. They are going to have to cut him anyway - too far over the cap.
Buftex Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Down here, in Texas, the rumour seems to be that the Texans will trade the #1 pick in the draft, and another pick (possibly a 2nd or third rounder), for the Jets #4 pick, and Abraham. The Jets seem to really want either Bush or Cutler...
