gobillsinytown Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Profootballtalk.com reports Vince scored a five out of fifty on the Wonderlic. And that's after someone prepping him specifically for the test. I'm not a big proponent of the riduculous level of testing and prodding they do at the Combine, but scoring five out of fifty is about as dumb as it gets. No wonder the agents don't want their players there.
Thailog80 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I do not believe that....especially if PFT is reporting it.
ajzepp Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Didn't he beat Jason Peters? 611909 omg, what did Peters get?
Rico Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 omg, what did Peters get? 611911 I thought he got a 3?
Pyrite Gal Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I thought he got a 3? 611918 I though boy genius Peters got a 6. It does not matter since what we are talking about for Young is that folks want him to play QB. We're talking about not simply making good decisions, but doing this quickly while big ugly guys are trying to kill you (it must be like you're a quail or a 78 year old man hunting with Dick Cheney). Clearly on does not need to be a rocket scientist to succeed at being an NFL QB (look at Jim Kelly after all) but if this Young score is remotely true thn pencil him in as a rich man's Awtwan Randle El rather than as even a David Carr.
Rico Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 That's good to know, he's twice or 3 times smarter than I thought.
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 That's good to know, he's twice or 3 times smarter than I thought. 611934 Good for us. Not good for Vince Young.
a player to be named later Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Its always intresting to see the scores. I once read that 7 or 8 is considered literate. Amazing how these idiots make it through college, and really just how stupid they are. out
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 FWIW, Chris Gamble got a 9 as well. Roderick Green posted the 3.
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 The best possible score on the Wonderlic is a 50. The lowest is a zero. A score of 20 is consistent with an IQ of about 100, while a 10 means the player can be generously described as "mostly literate." If you understand the theory of the Bell Curve, you'll understand why a 19 Wonderlic score isn't a 95 IQ, 18 does not equal 90, 10 does not equal 50, etc.... A score of 10 would be roughly equal to an IQ of 70...moderately retarded. http://journals.aol.com/monponsett/TheBell...ck/entries/1603

smokinandjokin Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Vince Young tied U of Miami's Frank Gore for the lowest all-time score on the Wonderlic. The score probably doesn't matter much if you are a RB, but as a QB, that is not good. For VY, a player who's best ability (running) will be neutralized by NFL LB's, and who's throwing is suspect, this test score could drop his stock.
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Oxymoron question of the day: How does an illiterate QB read defenses anyway?
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Vince Young tied U of Miami's Frank Gore for the lowest all-time score on the Wonderlic. Vince Young is walking with a big flashing sign over his head: "NFL Bust.... GM Killer..." He is an amazing athlete, but his skill set right now (delivery, ability to stand in the pocket) means he is far from being ready to be an NFL QB.
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Here's some nice data QB JP Losman 14 QB Steve McNair 15 QB Randall Cunningham 15 QB Dan Marino 14 QB Jeff George 10
Thailog80 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Pete Carroll was beaten by a guy who scored a 5 on his Wonderlic....hahahaha
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Here's some nice data QB JP Losman 14 QB Steve McNair 15 QB Randall Cunningham 15 QB Dan Marino 14 QB Jeff George 10 611953 Interesting... it certainly provides further evidence for Jeff George's shortcomings....
justnzane Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 It's not college. It's a football player at the University of Texas. 611946 Yeah, he got his education in a state where bushed "supported" education, but never funded it. The U of Tex is not known for their Rhodes Scholars. I mean after all look at Mike Williams, look at that sorry waste of space, he was about as bright at as a 1 watt nitelite. This is probably the sign that VY's stock is goin to drop. This also means that VY will feel liked he just got KY'd by a guy Named Bubba
