OnTheRocks Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I hope you people that fall all over yourselves to make sure you don't miss "24" find a way to give "The Shield" a look. 24 is the pop warner coed football team to The Shield's NFL Super Bowl Champion. This show just can't help but to get better EVERY week. For some warped reason I am rooting for the Strike Team to get off.....so I was pissed when I saw Dutch give some info to Kavanaugh. As always Antwan Mitchel was at his cold blooded bad ass best.

I'm basically to the point where I want the strike team to get away with it too. Lem and Ronnie never did anything I had a huge problem with, though Shane and Vic probably need to pay for murdering Terry. Last night's episode was definitely meant to make us hate Kavanaugh - arresting Lem a couple hours after he saved his life. Now that we, the audience, hate him the producers have cleared the way for Vic to do basically anything to him and us to not have a problem with it. Can't wait to see how things pan out over the next few episodes.

OnTheRocks Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I keep waiting for the investigation to point toward Shane's wife and mother in law. Those two will deliver Vic on a silver platter.

Im curious to know if the cash Corriene gave to JK is the marked money train cash. It appears the strike team is in deep and I can't wait to see how or "IF" they get out of it.

Not unlike the crap with Captain Ben back in the first couple of seasons. Brilliant television. The best part about it is when the season finally ends "Rescue Me" starts up. FX is doing a great job.

Not unlike the crap with Captain Ben back in the first couple of seasons. 615604 This might be the last season, though, so you never know. (And by "last season" they mean the 11 episodes they're showing now through the end of March followed by 10 more new episodes later this year. They don't know if the show is continuing after that.) The brilliance of the show is that they follow through with EVERY storyline. They pack more story and plot weaving into one episode than most shows can in an entire season.

inkman Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 They'd be foolish to kill it after five seasons unless they have a suitable substitute in the works. 615727 I just started watching this year and I'm floored each episode. I can't wait until spike shows it in syndication. I can catch up on a TON of lost time.
SilverNRed Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 They'd be foolish to kill it after five seasons unless they have a suitable substitute in the works. 615727 Supposedly the reason it may be ending is producer/creator Shawn Ryan doesn't want to do it any more (probably concerned about quality as the years go on). I don't think FX is the one that wants out. I can respect him for not wanting to do the show until it's completely horrible and way past its prime (NYPD Blue, the last year of Seinfeld, the last 8 years of Simpsons), but there have to be some more stories left.

Armadillo and the Money Train, that's all you need to know.
OnTheRocks Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 "Your ex-wife tastes like butter". tough episode to watch. i think, this program if they are indeed canceling it after next years abbreviated season will be calling it quits at the right time. this show made a pass by the shark tank last night. screw up after screw up by Vic, if I were Lem, I would not have gotten into a car and headed for Mexico. what happens between Kavanaugh and Corina next? surely he can't possibly try to get in her pants to get even with Vic. That will backfire on him badly. I think in the previews they showed his hand reaching to grab her ass(?). My guess is that Kavanaugh will be unable to close the deal on Vic and the Strike Team, leading to a Claudette v. Vic showdown next season. With Claudette using her brains to get Vic to confess to killing Terry.

Which makes for, I dunno, 10 out of 10 amazing episodes so far this season. The montage at the end was great (set to Smashing Pumpkins' "Disarm"), and I love that the show makes a point of having montages to music that show us the entire cast once a season or so. I was surprised Vic got played so easily by Antowan but he's bound to make mistakes just like anyone else. I don't know what they're doing with Lem. If he goes to jail, he's never a cop again and he's basically off the show for good. So I guess it's possible they let him go out in a blaze of glory and he dies next week. Or they could engineer a happy ending where Lem going on the run nullifies his deal but something happens to Kavanaugh next week where the whole case against him collapses and he's free to go (and stay a cop). That sounds too positive for a Shield ending. Kavanaugh is definitely out of control (nothing good can come from him touching up Corrine) so I could see him biting the dust next week.
Talonz Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Simply one of the best episodes ever.... Your wife taste like butter had me laughing for 10 minutes..I had to pause the DVR. My wife wanted to slap me. Damn I will miss this show when its not on anymore.
