Like A Mofo Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 God, look at the long list of who was available...I know I know, you can't play the hindsight game...but when you cut a #4 overall pick only 4 years after his selection, it sets you back. 609819 Good point...and yes its good in a sense that he is gone...but financially it does set you back more then people realize.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 This was an obvious move. Next, Posey and Anderson, save another 2.6 million.
sfladave Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I'm not going to miss that contract or how he couldn't ever play with an injury 609812 He made Jonas look like the poster boy of healthyness.
Stl Bills Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 He made Jonas look like the poster boy of healthyness. 609833 Good Point but one of the last things I will lable MW is tough, lots of potential just never seemed to put it all together in the given time. I hope he does well, but it was time to part ways.
Astrobot Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I will predict Chiefs to replace Will Shields with TubbaGoo.
BoondckCL Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I thought he was going to restructure. Oh well, i guess things work out better this way. $20 says the Patriots pick him up and turn him into a Pro Bowler.
Mark Vader Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I thought he was going to restructure. Oh well, i guess things work out better this way. $20 says the Patriots pick him up and turn him into a Pro Bowler. 609846 Do'nt even joke about that, man.
Fan in Chicago Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Good point...and yes its good in a sense that he is gone...but financially it does set you back more then people realize. 609829 I agree on the financial part but ML is sticking true to his 'character guys' comment. And I appreciate that. Stick to ONE strategy and be true to it with your actions.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I thought he was going to restructure. Oh well, i guess things work out better this way. $20 says the Patriots pick him up and turn him into a Pro Bowler. $50 says no one picks him up for more than $1M a year, and that team is NOT the Pats.
AKC Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Likewise. MW needs a fresh start, and so do we... 609814 Surely the way his Bill's chapter needed to end. And I have no doubt he'll find a home where he'll reach a productive level of play for an extended stretch, after which the history rewrite for many will be "and then we let Williams get away".
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I agree on the financial part but ML is sticking true to his 'character guys' comment. And I appreciate that. Stick to ONE strategy and be true to it with your actions. The writing was on the wall when Marv openly questioned whether he had the desire and motivation. I knew he was gone from that moment.
Rico Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Good Point but one of the last things I will lable MW is tough, lots of potential just never seemed to put it all together in the given time. I hope he does well, but it was time to part ways. 609839 The only time he ever got tough was when the drive-thru lane at Burger King was backed up.
Stl Bills Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 $50 says no one picks him up for more than $1M a year, and that team is NOT the Pats. 609849 I'll take that bet, not the Pats part but the 1 mil a year thing
LabattBlue Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Goodbye to an unmotivated, overweight, injury prone #4 overall BUST!! You will go down in history with Walt Patulski as the biggest draft bust in Bills history.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I'll take that bet, not the Pats part but the 1 mil a year thing You're on. Of course it's fictitious internet bucks, but...
Stl Bills Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Please... the only time he ever got tough was when the drive-thru lane at Burger King was backed up. 609852 I said one of the Last things I would lable him was tough, he was giant puss
Rico Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I said one of the Last things I would lable him was tough, he was giant puss 609858 Sorry, missed that in mid-rant.... I'll correct it.
Steven in MD Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Sorry, missed that in mid-rant.... I'll correct it. 609859 Marv!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is the BEST GM in the league!
Rico Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 $50 says no one picks him up for more than $1M a year, and that team is NOT the Pats. 609849 I disagree... Cowboys need an OT, I can see Jones giving him some jack & a fresh start back home in Texas.
