OnTheRocks Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Why? Fiedler would be horrific in Ralph weather. 609688 such a true Liberal. ....criticizing others ideas and not offering any yourself.
The Senator Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 AAAAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!! (Actually, I can think of quite a few worse options than Garcia. Considering he's busted a leg on each of his last two visits to RWS, though, I'm not so sure he'd WANT to try for #3...) 609766 Ah yes...I understand. I would not want to break my "third leg" either.
RayFinkle Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I would then cut Shane Matthews and bring in Jay Fiedler to compete also. 609636
Beerball Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I don't think we need an option quarterback. They get beat the he!! up in the NFL.
Buftex Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I would love to see McCown in Buffalo, but that is not likely to happen. My dark horse guy would be Kingsbury, but he is such a long term project, and wouldn't really be any competition for Losman or Holcomb right now...
C.Biscuit97 Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Reggie Mcneal, QB and WR, Texas A&M - 5th round pick
The Jokeman Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 2006 5th round draft pick: Erik Meyer I would then cut Shane Matthews and bring in Jay Fiedler to compete also. 609636 Reading my mock draft I see. In terms of free agents, I think the most obvious choice would be Jaime Martin. He's cheap, has some starting experience (last year due to injury) and familiar with Fairchild by working together in St Louis.

Chilly Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I wish it was VINCEEEEEEEEEEEEEE but it aint gonna happen
mcjeff215 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Please name the second purpose 609768 Sure, dishes.
NotStuckonStupid Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 It will possible be the other QB marv already signed. Orch i think his name is. He is in NFLE right now.
Kelly the Dog Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Marv on the NFL Network today went out of his way to imply they weren't bringing in a QB to compete as a starter, and he surely sounded like it was Losman's job to lose. He didn't even sound that confident in Holcomb, who he said did "an admirable job", and mentioned him almost as if an afterthought. He implied they would consider drafting a QB in the late rounds to develop and possibly a no name FA. You can link it through Packers.com at the 40 minute mark (thanks to Mark)
1gap2gap Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Look for the name Brett Basanez QB Northwestern.
Rico Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Its time to play "Who's the most hilarious option we could possibly bring in that would piss off the entire Wall?" 609638 Travis Brown.
The Tomcat Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Cut Hole-Cum and sign Kitna. Cut Mathews and bring in a 6th round pick-someone like...hmmm, lets see, Tom Brady Seriously I see NO REASON to go with Holcomb....Hes average at best and see very little upside long term.
ACor58 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 What about Dave Ragone from Houston. He was a pretty damn good QB at Loiusville. Reminded me a little bit of Rivers.
dib Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I would then cut Shane Matthews and bring in Jay Fiedler to compete also. Fiedler is too injury prone. even the Jets cut him.
The Senator Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Travis Brown. 610503 Hey - he's available... Colts make trims... Is that guy injury-prone, or what?

He has all the guts in the world, but coming off the bench in '04 and '05, his play was less than scintillating... You pretty much have to commit to a shorter pass game - using the TE a fair amount, and if the OC abandons the run game (which they all seem to do, sooner or later), expect interceptions. He's a decent player if you tune your offense to his skills - but for a guy off the bench, I'd look elsewhere.
