Ramius Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Someone mentioned in the reggie wayne thread that Harrison is 34 and may be retiring soon from the Colts. Now Harrison just signed a $66 million contract a few years ago, with a big signing bonus. So for arguements sake, lets say he retires after this season with 4 years left on his deal and 15 million left in unamortized bonus money. How does this affect the Colts cap? They dont get off scott free from him retiring do they? There has to be some type of cap hit for a retiring player with time left on his deal. Anyone know a bit more on how this works? Clumpy?

Clumpy? 609369[/snapback] when a player retires the entire unamortized bonus hits the cap........treated the same as a player being released....... and in my opinion, marvin isn't even close to being done.......he could play into his late 30's the way he looks........
