beerme1 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I am wondering how much trouble these dogs are. Will they just destroy landscaping? Will they find a small low spot under a fence and dig and dig until it is a big spot and then get out and take off? Your thoughts appreciated
Alaska Darin Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Any dog will do such things if not trained properly and left alone too often.
beerme1 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Um, ya. But I have read a few things and some indicate they are really bad and others not so much. So I am somewhat confused with this breed.
BuffaloBud Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Consider the breed. That is what they were bred to do. Try to tell a lab not to go in the water.
KD in CA Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 My sister in law has two Westies. I'm not aware of any of such problems.
stevestojan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 We had a westie for 15 years. Never dug a damn thing, then again, she was a house dog. She would lay at your feet for literally hours so long as you rubbed her belly. A little nuts when company came over... but hell, they's terriers, to be expected. I think I heard her bark twice in 15 years.
