IIRC, Couch has a real bad shoulder. Last I heard, he was battling with the Packers over an injury settlement.

Guy had a tough-luck carreer - those years in CLE with poor OL's and little running game. He had some good seasons with WR Kevin Johnson, though.

Maybe Marv would sit on the Green Lime Couch or whatever...thats the closest couch we will see at OBD

Whatever happened to Cricket wireless?

The secret plan is actually to release not only Losman, but Holcomb as well. Then bring in an open competition between Couch, Smith, and Cade McNown. Three top-12 picks! That's gotta net a playoff berth.

Just read this at KFFL and thought I would throw out the possibility that he may come for a workout.

Cuz I know how much Marv loves a man that can cry. <_<

Texans | Teams works out Couch

Fri, 17 Feb 2006 05:42:31 -0800

Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans worked out free agent QB Tim Couch (Packers) Thursday, Feb. 16. Couch has been going through a long recovery from rotator cuff surgery. "Tim came in, we put him through a long workout, and he had a good workout," Texans general manager Charley Casserly said.

Scrapping over the starting role here in Buffalo?

Do you think Marv could bust a move on Couch" Is he a viable option for our Bills?

Marv hasn't busted a move on a couch since 1945. You want he should break a hip?

It could happen if Turk Shonert gets his way.

The super-secret plan is for Alex Van Pelt and Turk Shonert to compete head to head for the starring gig.

whatever happened to kordell stewart.  He would seem perfect -- a reject from both the steelers and the bears.

If TD were still the GM, Kordell would have been the perfect choice for him.

Not an inspiring list. I'd say the best of this bad deal are:

Sage Rosenfels

Jon Kitna

Drew Brees (depending on injury)

Chris Weinke (had some decent moments on a bad team)

Chris Simms

Josh McCown

Jamie Martin

I don't see any obvious upgrades to Holcomb here. Drew Brees, if he can come back from injury. Maybe Josh McCown, though he's a question mark. The question mark theme goes triple for Rosenfels. Jon Kitna was a good QB a few years back, but is he over the hill? Maybe Chris Simms can make a decent career for himself.

As a guy who follows the Browns, I really think there was no competition between Couch and Holcomb. Couch was clearly better, but those years of playing behind one of the worst offensive lines EVER, caught up to him.

He did pick Pittsburgh apart 2 straight years- one being as a rookie after Cleveland lost to them 43-0 with Ty Detmer at QB. If he's healthy- both mentally AND physically, I would love to have him come in

It would be interesting if Part 2 of the Holcomb/Couch battle took place in Buffalo.
