Frez
Why is Bobby Shaw getting more playing time then our 13th pick in the draft? It's Lee Evans time! Don't waste this #1 pick.

Mark VI
Why is Sam Aiken coming into the game, telling the entire world that we are running on the next play ?? We are waaaaaaay too predictable. I like Shaw and Evans must be used more. Our playcalling needs vast improvement.

ch19079
did you see that one play, where evens went deep, and left moulds open across the middle?? that was a good 20 yard gain. and if they cover moulds, than we throw it deep to evens like the 60+ yarder he caught. but shaw has shown he can cetch those 3rd down passes when bledsoe is blitzed. all the talk this offseason was to have evens on the outside, and reed in the slot. but we havent dont that much at all. WHY NOT?????? on 1st and 2nd down, in 3 WR sets, put evens on the outside with reed in the slot. then on 3rd down, put shaw in the slot, and reed on the outside. ok. that will be the best set. He's probably running bad routes and Bledsoe can't find him. That's a slam on Bledslow. I have no idea.

Don't waste this #1 pick. 44146[/snapback] yeah. Instead of Drew Bledsoe not being able to get the ball to Bobby Shaw he should be not getting the ball to Lee Evans. Memo to staff: If he's getting sacked it doesn't matter who the receivers are.
Beerball
Shaw is DB's binky. Until he is able to find a new binky Shaw will continue to get snaps.
Wanted: Ring
At this point in the season, why not use Evans more. Whats the worst he could do, drop a ball like our "stud" EM? Just experiment a little...please.

Alaska Darin
Do you people actually know anything about the NFL? Seriously? Evans isn't playing because he's a rookie. Period. He doesn't know what to do, when to do it, or where. A microcosm was the lateral/fumble in the Jags game that was caused because Evans completely whiffed on his block. Our biggest problem right now it committing too many mental errors - the idea of adding a rookie to the mix ain't gonna change that in a positive way. Since we are getting blitzed all the time, it hardly makes sense to put in a fresh rookie and ask him to make adjustments mentally at this point. Right now he's nothing more than a burner and it's to the defense's advantage when he is in the game because of the tendancy.

Posters often seem to be out of control on this board with demands that a 1st round pick start right now and contribute right now or he somehow is being misused or shouldbe declared a bust. Remember Eric Moulds rookie+ performance. It took him over 2 years to find his way and become productive as a player. Even despite some dumb penalties this year and the usual occurence of some untimely drops (which happen to all WRs unless they are Jerry Rice) he is by far the best player on the Bills offense. It is great when a 1st rounder plays immediately. it is even better when a 1st rounder contributes immediately. However, though it ishoped for it is far from required in the NFL as many great players have gotten slow or even disgusting starts and then become good or even great players. Moulds is just one example close to home of a 1st rounder who sucked initially that was a great pick by us. For those whose panties are all up in a wad about us "wasting" a 1st rounder+ on Losman, Michael Vick sat and learned his first year and led his team to the playoffs his second year. Chad Pennington sat and watched his first year and led his team to the playoffs his second year. Teams fairly routinely make an investment like Carson Palmer who was drafted as early as you want and contrbuted nothing his first year on the field. he may yet turn out to be a Ryan Leaf, but any flat out claim that a 1st round pick must play and contribute right away or he was a bad pick is simply wrong. /dev/null
Lee Evans is still learning how to be a Bills #1 draft pick. You know, pick out the right baseball cap. Find the spot where you good side gets on TV. Someone's gotta fill the void for those 10 or so plays McGahee actually goes in on.
