gobillsinytown Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 A quality control coach does a lot of the film breakdown, taking the raw film of opponents and breaking it up into segments for the players to watch. For example, Alex might see a tendency for an opponent use a particular defensive formation on 3 and long, or he might notice that a saftey always cheats up closer to the line on a specific offensive formation. If he's good at it, and I would guess as a former QB he probably will be, he'll be a lot of help to the players.
throwbackbilly Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Van Pelt is a GREAT hire. The guy had a wealth of knowledge on how the Bills were playing from watching film and practice during the week and sitting in the broadcast booth on Sunday. If we have areas of QB performance that need to be addressed (of course)-then I can't think of a better guy than Alex.
