The Senator Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 For those not listening to WGR... Alex Van Pelt - Offensive Quality Control. Turk Schonert - Quarterbacks Coach Charlie Coiner - Tight Ends Coach Bills Coaches Also, for those reading this while driving, the Skyway is closed.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Turk Schonert is back? And AVP left UB for OQC? Interesting. That just leaves Seto to accept the LB'ing position.
Dan Gross Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 More "Back to the Future" I guess. As far as AVP goes, "Pro [anything]" > "College assistant."
Beerball Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 So Schonert will be the one cutting players during training camp?
IDBillzFan Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 More "Back to the Future" I guess.602147[/snapback] If my calculations are right, when this team hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious schitt.

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date. BUT...no email? I hadda find out about this on a message board?
nodnarb Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Heard on WGR that Van Pelt has been hired as OQC coach and turk schonert is the QB coach. Interesting. I Like AVP. He understands the game, and I'm glad he got the hire. I think this job is right up his alley.

Albany,n.y. Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I'm not thrilled with Turk. I recall reading a story that exposed the Bills locker room split with DF/RJ & one part said Schonert took Flutie's side & refused to coach RJ. If that story was true, I wonder if he'll throw JP under the bus if he likes Holcomb better.

But, it's pretty hard to believe as presented. A coach refused to coach a player he was responsible for coaching? That's a biggee!
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 "Are you telling me...that you built a starting NFL quarterback...out of an Adam Sandler look-alike?"
Stussy109 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I like this addition...the guy brings gameday experience, and has not only been coached out the wazoo, but has put the coaching techniques to work on the field. i'll take experience any day over a "name".

Ive seen more from JP in 8 starts then I have from Johnson while he was here. Flutie won games. There was no RJ vs Flutie, it was Front office/owner vs. Flutie.
Jukester Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Well, everyone wanted to see a former Bills qb join the coaching staff........
SnakeOiler Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 i think it sucks....UB needs him more than the bills do
