BillsFanNC Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Steam is good solid beer, IMO. But, I wouldn't be so down on American beers. IF you haven't tried them already (my guess is you probably have) try some of the beers from these two: Three Floyds Brewing http://www.threefloyds.com/ Rogue http://www.rogue.com/ Also, Canada is home to one of the world's greatest brewers: Unibroue http://www.unibroue.com/english.cfm 601981 Edit: Forgot to add the links I wanted to. To the above I'll add the following excellent american craft breweries: Dogfish Head The 90 minute IPA is outstanding Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye is good from BR. Stone Brewers of the outstanding american strong ale Arrogant Bastard
rockpile Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 A very good analogy. Light lagers are indeed the hot pockets of the beer world. 601919 I just like beer. I am not a mass consumer - steve's intake would knock me out - but I will drink snob beer and I will also drink the low carb, light, and even some skunky stuff. I Love Brooklyn Lager - fresh draft. I love Mexican beer (esp Negra Modelo Dark Beer), Sam Adams, Saranac, Guiness - just.... BEER! I will go to "Beers of the World" and fill a case of misc beers like Old Scratch, or Three Stooges. I am a bit pickier when it comes to wine, but again I enjoy the 3 for $10 specials, the South American Cab-Sav, LOVE the Australian brands. I am a bit snobbish on the cheap wines that come in a gallon jug though. Great cheap screwtop wine - Bulletin.
