Rico Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I'm sitting here in Baltimore County watching the O's beat the Red Sox (in glorious HDTV ) Jim Palmer is talking about Boston's woeful post-season performance over the years and the camera zooms in on this lonely pennant hanging in Fenway Park: "1918 Boston Red Sox World Champions"
Thailog80 Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I just got home from the Yankee game...The YANKEES WIN!!!!!!!!!
Pete Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Yanks clinched a playoff spot again today and their magic number for the division is 6 I beleive- that is if I did my math right. 162 games +1 -(96 Yanks wins+61 Sox losses)=6
billsfanone Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Lets put the nail in those f'ers coffin this weekend. 1918
Guest Guest Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 With a payroll of 195 million dollars, baseball is a joke right now. The Yankees enjoy the biggest advantage in professional sports and their fans act like it's mystique and aura. The fact is the payroll gap now guarantees the Yankees a spotin the playoffs. Luckily, it doesn't help them in a 5 game series as much when they will LOSE against Minnesota or the Angels.

We all know what that team is going to do come playoff time.

Mark Long Beach Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I thought "Mystique and Aura" were exotic dancers....

T-Bone Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Regardless of how the season ends, the Yankees will lose in the first playoff series, so quite frankly all they are doing now is ensuring their speedy playoff exit.

Get off this $ whining kick already Yankee haters, its old.
gantrules Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I think the Yanks are probably the best thing for baseball. Where would baseball be without them? I'm not a Yanks fan but I can recognize a good thing when I see it.
