BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Think so? I will all but cry tears of joy the day this slob is cut. Moulds is where we disagree. He can only be cut as little as 1.5 mil. as per the NFL Players Agreement. He will count at least 9 mil toward the cap in 06. Yes, 9 mil for a washed up, whining malcontent who averaged all of 10.1 yards per catch, this due to a late season surge. As I said, not a pretty picture. 602079 I think there should at least be an effort to reduce Moulds salary cap numbers. I agree that he's not worth 10 million bucks a year, but looking at the options we'll have in FA, I cant say I'd rather have any of those guys above Eric Moulds. However, I'm a realist...I understand if Moulds refuses to come down from 10 million bucks a year, we have to cut him. I'd just like to see an attempt on both sides made to keep him before we're stuck with guys like Corey Bradford as our #2 receiver *shudder*
stuckincincy Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 The way I see it is if EM and MW are cut, the Bills stand to gain roughly 10.4 million dollars worth of cap room. If I am correct, their fate will be decided during free agency. I think that if the Bills are able to lure a prominent free agent to Buffalo (Hutch, etc.), these guys are just flat out gone. If not, I guess we are stuck with them, their under-achievement, and their cap drain. Not a pretty picture. 602037 Npoe - not so pretty. Some think we can bring in this and that potential FA like the Bills merely have to snap their fingers and lo-and-behold they come running. They decide to leave their current employer, but there are 31 other potential suitors - at least that is what a FA hopes. I wish I could remember and give credit to the poster who noted that most all team's OL's are in the main, products of their drafts of the first three rounds, or FA's the same - unlike the Bills. I know I harp on the B'gals - but their 5 OL's have a 1st, 1st, 2nd picked by them, their Center was a 3rd rounder by AZ in '94, and their RG was a 2nd round pick by PHI in 2000. Sure, there are today's exemptions like NE. Brady and his recievers are seem like Marino and Clayton and Duper, but the rule changes that allow for flags if today's receivers get so much as a frown from a DB matter a lot. Marino had decent lines throughout his career.
