bills_fan Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Using Florida QBs may have gotten you further here. Actually U Miami QBs would have been the best example. Since Testeverde they have all flopped in the pros. Steve Walsh, Craig Erickson, Gino Toretta, Ken Dorsey were all great college QBs, but none did squat in the pros. Walsh and Erickson were actually supposed to be good.

My point is about Rivers. Thanks for trying to help me out.

UF QB's would have been the better choice because they put up astronomical numbers in the fun n gun, and then choke when they hit the NFL. Weinke was the last one, but it was unsure to tell how he'd do in the pros. Here at FSU we are known for our CB's, defense, and the playmakers on offense. (warrick dunn, l. coles, p. warrick)

The post was about Philip Rivers and how he was an excelent College QB. Maybe the best that was ever seen. Now try to follow me! It does not matter what college QB's I used to compare Philip rivers too. What matters is that because he was a good college QB (Maybe the best) It has nothing to do with his abilities to be succesful at the next level. Now I will leave it up to you to pick the college of your choice and the QB's of your choice who have been great college QB's but have failed at the next level to compare Rivers too. There - are you happy now? Next time try to stay on post. It will help you when you interview for a job in the future.

I believe it goes something like this: Some quarterbacks who are great in college do not succeed in the pros. Phillip Rivers was great in college. Therefore, he will not succeed in the pros. I think this is what passes for airtight reasoning around here.

Typical doctor - going forth with just half the story.

I see where your "brilliant" logic was going, and i am saying that using FSU was a bad comparison. FSU is not known as a breeding ground for great college QB's. And i'd hardly consider Philip Rivers "the best college QB ever seen" As was said, you would have been better off using florida QB's. no one likes UF. !@#$ the gators. And as for your pathetic attempt at being condescending regarding my schooling, i dont have any teachers. I have finished all my classes and are currently doing my thesis research for my doctorate.

The specualtion for rivers I think makes makes sense in the Jets case when you look at the cap. Without a new CBA in place, plus the Jets caps woes, they can get a guy who has had at least two years in the pros, was considered a franchise type QB, and comes without having to pay a signing bonus, which would be huge for them. Hence the trade rumors

Hence the trade rumors 600259[/snapback] and i thought you were a con man that swindled 600K from a divorced woman you were in love with. It makes sense for the Jets to get rivers, because pennington is an unknown. But they would have to franchise abraham before they trade him, and i dont see how they can franchise him and still be under the cap, when they are already something like 28 mil over.
