Bill from NYC Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Check out this link and scroll down to 2/4/06. It is a wonderful article about drafting linemen. In the last decade, only 10 OGs have been selected in round one, yet 6 of them have played in superbowls. Imo it is a must read for you draftniks. Hope you like it. Quote
30dive Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Outstanding info.......I really do not know why, but I love this Daryn Colledge OT from Boise State. If this kid is available in the 2nd, I hope we grab him up quick as snot. He is ranked sixth on your referenced board and I am looking to see him after the combines. If this team goes D-line in the first this kid should be here and I really do think he will be a steal. Quote
R. Rich Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Colledge isn't bad @ all. I would hope we could land a guy like Jonathan Scott in the 2nd, but his draft stock seems to be improving to the point where he's been mentioned as a potential first round pick. Quote

I have read this article a couple of times, and each time something else amazes me. It also points to the importance of NOT drafting a bust with a first round pick. I know....easier said than done. Because Guards are not often drafted in round 1, the ones that are have an astounding success rate. Sadly, most mocks show the Steelers grabbing Jean-Giles. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Quote
