Simon Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I missed the beginning of the 4thqrtr and never saw the play which folks are referring to as the "phantom holding". Anybody want to tell me exactly what happened so I have more ammo to harass the local Stiller fans? And there was a play (in the 3rdqrtr I think) where a Roethlisberger pass was tipped and it looked like it was picked by a Seattle LB. The backjudge threw his marker but the other ref called it incomplete and overruled him. Inexplicably they never showed a replay of it(or of a lot of other plays, which was annoying me) and I was wondering if any of y'all actually saw what happened. Cya
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I missed the 3rd quarter play. But on the phantom holding penalty, Clark Haggans starts early and is offsides, which causes Locklear to use a rip technique (it looked like to me) to prevent him from getting to Hassebeck, who throws a beautiful pass to TE Jerramy Stevens that he ACTUALLY catches (!). And on the next play, Haggans leaves early, but again no flag.

On the phantom holdng call, he was across the line so fast it was ridiculous. I coudn't believe they didn't call offsides, let alone holding.
