Dr. Fong Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I need to come up with something for the wife. Kind of tired of the same old flowers and chocolates etc. Can anyone give me a good idea for something for this year?
Dr. Fong Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 Has you wife chided you about previous kindnesses? 596508 Nah, I'm usually a pretty good gift giver. I just am kind of out of ideas this year and thought maybe someone had a unique idea that they had used at some point that I could steal.
SDS Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 A new twist on a the salon gift would be to buy her a a session that teaches you how to put makeup on for her particular skin type, face shape, eye color. Getting her a session with a personal shopper to help her evaluate her wardrobe, throw out unflattering pieces, and select styles that fit her body shape should go over very well...
Puhonix Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 What's wrong with the traditional gift of Vaccuum cleaners? If you really want to wow her, get a musical group to serenade her. String quartet, or a jazz ensemble, or even an acapella group.
KD in CA Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I need to come up with something for the wife. Kind of tired of the same old flowers and chocolates etc. Can anyone give me a good idea for something for this year? 596495 Take her out to a nice restaurant that you've never been to. Get her a gift certificate for a massage or makeover or whatever at a local spa. Write her a poem, sonet, love letter, etc. Draw her a bath, use the scented candles, nice music and rose peddles.....(then join in. ) Women don't need presents on V-day and they certainly don't care about chocolate. They want to feel special, appreciated and loved.
Just Jack Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 In Syracuse there's Singing Valentines. I did this one year, just about the same cost as a dozen roses. Here's site that promises links for groups that do a similar service across the US... SingingValentines.com
Dr. Fong Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 Write her a poem, sonet, love letter, etc. 596548 Well that's one thing that definately isn't happening. But thanks for the suggestions.
smokinandjokin Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Tell her you're gay and you're moving to Wyoming to be a cowboy.
Dr. Fong Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 Tell her you're gay and you're moving to Wyoming to be a cowboy. 596562 Anyone else completely sick of the Brokeback Mountain jokes?
Fezmid Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Send her flowers on the 13th instead. I usually get my wife stuff before or after the holiday (V-Day, birthday, etc), instead of on the day itself. Keeps her guessing, and I think she likes it... (or at least she pretends she does... ) CW

Could she perhaps think that you're telling her that her make-up has looked lousy for the past 15 years and you're just now letting her know?

The Tomcat Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I got my wife the matching dustpan to the broom I got her last year!
Chef Jim Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Women don't need presents on V-day and they certainly don't care about chocolate. 596548 Whoa, I think the love of my life would beg to differ.
