MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 It seems that if the Bills can't get Bates, they'll surely be able to get Cottrell. And more than a few places suggest he'd be virtually as good as Bates. I don't know about that, but I guess it could be worse.
Campy Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I wouldn't be doing handsprings or anything, but IMO TC is a solid DC. I agree with you, we could do worse, but I'm not sure he's the best guy out there.
BillsWatch Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Ted has some very bad remarks when he left and called Ralph and Tom Donahoe racists.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 Ted has some very bad remarks when he left and called Ralph and Tom Donahoe racists. Judging by his treatment by the Jets and Vikes, I'm sure he's changed his mind. Or at least he SHOULD have changed his mind.
BillsWatch Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I agree. He has learned that he is not head coach material. Only way he becomes head coach is if his head coach is canned and he becomes interim head coach.
Campy Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Ted has some very bad remarks when he left and called Ralph and Tom Donahoe racists. 585048 For real? I guess I don't remember any of that.
BillsWatch Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 For real? I guess I don't remember any of that. 585056 Yeah. Ted was very mad after being turned down for head coach position and made comments about Ralph and Tom D. and front office saying "they" were racist. I heard it on a radio interview. Ralph is like an elephant - he has a sharp memory and a long nose always geting into trouble; I do not know if he will forgive that remark.
Dawgg Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I recall him saying that he didn't think they gave him a fair shot at the job... but I don't remember him saying they were 'racist.' That's an awfully strong thing to say and if he said that, it would have been huge news.... people (ie the media) eat those types of accusations up and don't take it lightly. Yeah. YOOOOOO Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 How bout Donnie Henderson....Jets seemed to play with heart for him...
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 How bout Donnie Henderson....Jets seemed to play with heart for him... Already signed with someone.
JAMIEBUF12 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 do we have to have a defensive coordinator? can't dick do that too?
YOOOOOO Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 By who i really havent been paying attention to coach movements...
Blue Chipper Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Your telling me TC is the best option to run our defense? There has to be somebody whether it be at the college ranks or a coach in the pros who hasnt been promoted to DC yet that could bring some fire to our D. Its well known that DJ will put his stamp on the defense but it would be nice to get someone that can put his opinion in as well.
daquixers_is_back Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I like Ted Cottrell ... didnt he give us a #1 defense in 1998 or 1999?

It was a radio interview when he was going to NYC and maybe it wasn't wide spread broadcasted but that is what he said. I thought he was just talking about Donahoe until he said "they".
BigdaddyinOrlando Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Maybe they are gonna try something really crazy and offer it to Lindy Ruff! They play an exciting "attacking" style.
d_wag Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 bates or cotrell........we win either way.......both bring loads of experience and have run successful defenses.....
OVSplit Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Hire Gene Chizik - from University of Texas Longhorns as def. coordinator!!!
