zow2 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I've watched their 1st string Defense so far this preseason and those guys look very tough against run & pass. Our running game better be working because Drew will not have 4 seconds to throw. I think some Bills fans are taking the Jags too lightly. FWIW, I think Garrard is underrated and Leftwich is overrated. I bet Garrard sees the field for them at some point this year.
Hollywood Donahoe Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I've been hyping the Jags for a while. Their defense will be one of the best in the league this year, and they've got a very good OL and a great RB. If Leftwich makes any kind of sophmore progress at all, Jacksonville will be a serious playoff contender.

Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Yeah there defense was great against us last year...lol.
JinVA Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Yeah there defense was great against us last year...lol. 2219 And your point is?
Wham Rocks Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 The Jags are not to be taken lightly this season. Jax had the #1 run defense from '03, allowing a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. Thanks mostly to Marcus Stroud and John Henderson, who may be the best run stuffing duo in the NFL. Despite the blowout loss to the Bills, no team was more effective against Travis Henry than the Jags; holding him to 20 some odd yards. But don't expect Drew Bledsoe to have a huge day this time around. The secondary is improved. Rashean Mathis is in his 2nd year and is prime to break out. They also signed Deon Grant to compliment Donovan Darius. Expect a defensive battle in Week 1 and don't be surprised if the Jags sneak away with a win. They're not a 5-11 team anymore.
Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 And your point is? 2230 That is the point same pieces were in place last year.
lawnboy1977 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I was thinking that earlier today about how tough Jacksonville will be. They have a stingy D. Remember TH's 26 rushing yards against them last year.
