The Jokeman
I covered Sherman in an older thread, so here goes another one for Jauron, Now there's no guarantee any of them would follow him here but I thought I'd take a look if there's anyone that could help us. Andre' Goodman CB: A nickel back in Detroit, not a viable option if need to replace Nate Clements. Bracy Walker S: A veteran back up SS, might be considered if let go of Milloy and draft a replacement on Day 1 of the draft. Brock Gutierrez C: A career back up C, might be considered if Teague's lost and want a mentor for Preston. Earl Holmes LB: No need for a veteran MLB. Jared DeVries DE: If Ryan Denney let go, he might be worth looking at as back up Left DE. Jeff Backus OT: Arguably the best Left OT available in free agency, not sure if we'd have the cap space to sign. Jeff Garcia QB: No need for another veteran QB Kalimba Edwards DE: I liked him coming out of the draft, coming off his best year as a pro. Might be worth looking at as an off the bench pass rusher. Kevin Johnson WR: Don't see an overwelming need for a veteran WR that can't start. Kyle Kosier OG: A not so good backup, no thanks. Nate Wayne LB: Backup WLB, no thanks. Paul Smith FB: Backup FB, no thanks. R.W. McQuarters CB: To date has shown best used as a nickel and return man, might be an upgrade to King or Greer but would pass. Shawn Bryson RB: Since leaving us jas shown to be a good backup/3rd down RB. I'd definately look at as an improvement over Shaud Williams. Troy Edwards WR: See comments for Kevin Johnson. Tyrone Hopson OG: one start in four NFL seasons, no thanks. Vernon Fox S: Career backup FS, if Vincent let go might be looking at if want someone that knows Jauron's system behind Baker. Wali Rainer LB: See notes on Earl Holmes but Rainer has shown to be a good special teamer. List courtesy of Red Zone.org

dtgolder
Living in Ann Arbor and working in Detroit, I say let 'em all stay in Motown. But if you're interested in my $0.02: Andre' Goodman CB: Marginal at best...not someone I'd use on a regular basis Bracy Walker S: Backup at best Brock Gutierrez C: Nope. Detroit O-line worse than the Bills'. He can stay. Earl Holmes LB: Unimpressive. Jared DeVries DE: Unimpressed by him too. Jeff Backus OT: WAAAY over-rated, gives up way too many sacks. Too slow to play in the NFL. Jeff Garcia QB: Nope--he's a backstabber (but his girlfriend might be worth it--she calls local radio stations to defend him, and she's an ex-playboy bunny I believe) Kalimba Edwards DE: Ok, probably an upgrade, but not a "franchise" type free agent. Kevin Johnson WR: Nope--can't beat out any of the 3 rookies in Detroit. Just a journeyman. Kyle Kosier OG: Nope Nate Wayne LB: Nope Paul Smith FB: Nope R.W. McQuarters CB: Nope. Shawn Bryson RB: No way. Troy Edwards WR: Nope Tyrone Hopson OG: Nope Vernon Fox S: Nope Wali Rainer LB: Nope Obviously, the end of that list is full of backups and journeymen. Bottom line: Jauron better not pull from Detriot. They're awful. Best of the lot is Garcia's girlfriend.
