Like A Mofo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Why dont the Bills just take Vince Young, Marcus Vick AND Brad Smith?!?!? Because he is good in NCAA 2006 for PSII dosent mean he is good for the Bills
ans4e64 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 "Starting at the left bench position today (because we have losman and holcomb) is QB from Missouri, Brad Smith"
The Dean Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 If the Bills can pick a decent QB prospect with a mid-to-late round pick they should go for it. Hell, they should do it every year...or two.
Stl Bills Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Actually I just graduated from Mizzou last year and still live in Columbia, Mo.. I've seen every start this kid has ever had so I'm not basing this off Ps2 Ncaa football. He's not going to be a QB in the NFL but rather a WR. He does not have the arm strength to play the QB position but he is dangerous in the open field when he gets the ball. Not to mention he might be the most humble athlete I've ever seen. And not only was he pretty good in the video game, he wasn't too bad in real life either---The only player in NCAA history to throw for 8000 and run for 4000 yards in a career, only two others have ever thrown for 7000 and run for 3000.
Stl Bills Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 "Starting at the left bench position today (because we have losman and holcomb) is QB from Missouri, Brad Smith" 576931 He'll play WR not QB. Reminds me of Randell EL only 6' 2" and 212lbs.
Like A Mofo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 He'll play WR not QB. Reminds me of Ranell EL only 6' 2" and 212lbs. 576943 Now that you added more detail, that isnt a terrible thought at all.....as long as the Bills could get a guy like this for good value, hey why not?
ans4e64 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 He'll play WR not QB. Reminds me of Randell EL only 6' 2" and 212lbs. 576943 oh ok, sorry..... "Starting at the left bench position today (because we have evans parrish and maybe moulds, he has also never played WR in the nfl or college on a consistant basis) is WR from Missouri, Brad Smith"
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Brad Smith will last well past the 3rd round, and I sure as hell believe we have much bigger needs then drafting a college qb to play wr.
Stl Bills Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 oh ok, sorry..... "Starting at the left bench position today (because we have evans parrish and maybe moulds, he has also never played WR in the nfl or college on a consistant basis) is WR from Missouri, Brad Smith" 576954 Mould's chances of being a Bill in 2006 are still pretty questionable even with Mularky gone. He'll have to take a pretty big paycut and who is to say he doesn't want to leave after last year. Evans has shown a lot of promise and looks to develop into a solid number one for years to come but he is not a legitimate number one...yet. As for Reed and Parrish they both belong in the slot because one is too small to play outside and the other too slow. So if Moulds is gone spending our second third or our fourth on someone like Smith doesn't sound so dumb. You are correct that he has not played the position on a regular basis but by the fourth round it's hard to find starting NFL caliber wideouts who were also outstanding WRs in college. Those players generally drafted in rounds 1-2. Hines Ward, Randell EL, and Matt Jones were three who came to mind who were able to make the transition quite nicely. Sure its a risk and it might not pan out but you act like I'm talking about drafting the kid with a 1st rounder, I'm not.
Brandon Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Turn on the East West Shrine game if you want a late round QB...Alabama State QB Tarvaris Jackson. Mobile and has an absolute cannon for an arm, and will probably be picked in the last two rounds.

VABills Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 No more slash players. We drafted Smith 2 years ago and Parrish last year as our slash players. No more. Enough.
