JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Was up by 10, duke came back to tie it. Right now its 22-22. Could be a very good game.
Blue Chipper Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 they almost got beat by NC State at home last game. Duke is one of the best teams in the country but to go undefeated for the entire regular season is pretty much impossible. Maybe today is the day they get beat. Gtown is home and dont look to be intimidated by the Dukies. Up 6 and the crowd is loud.
JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Though CBS needs to get their act together. This is a horribly produced game. Music starts at ranom times....screen goes black ocasionally... G-Town up by 7...4 mins left in 1st
Like A Mofo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I know this is a G-Town thread...but Im fired up for my alma mater right now St. John's! Wins over #9 Pittsburgh and Louisville this week.....hey SJU wont make the big tourney (Im hopeful at least they get an NIT bid) but I feel St John's is heading back in the right direction.
JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Im not so sure st johns wont make the touny. They are 10-6 right now, with 2 big wins (Louisville and Pittsburgh). If they can make a good showing against the rest of the non-ranked big east schedule (i.e. rutgers, depaul, seton hall, providence, georgetown, marquett, etc..) and pick up one more win against ucon, wvu, syr or villanova, they could make it. Big east will put 7-8 teams in the tourney IMO. IN: UConn, Villanova, Pitt, WVU. Likely In: Syracuse, Louisville Probable: Marquette, Cincinnatt, Georgetown Possible: Rutgers, St. Johns, Notre Dame Out: Depaul, Providence, South Florida, Seton Hal
Blue Chipper Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Maybe if St Johns gets a couple more big wins could be an at large team for the dance. They are 10-6 overall but the the Luoisville win wont look like much at seasons end because they are very overrated and will continue to lose I think.
eball Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 G-town up 14 at the half. Pretty amazing. Of course, I still expect Duke to win, but a boy can dream...
JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Yeah, louisville is a tough team to get a read on. All their losses (except st johns) have been to ranked teams. They win the games they are supposed to, and lose the games they are supposed to. They havent really defined themselves to me either. They have a fairly easy big east schedule left (if there is such a thing when playing uconn twice and 5 games against ranked teams)... We shall see. G-town up 14 at the half. Pretty amazing. Of course, I still expect Duke to win, but a boy can dream... And 14 is alot, even for a duke team to overcome. I am sure they CAN do it..but I hope they don't!
JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Does it? Duke has come back pretty nicely here. Good game. Duke down b 4 with 2:35 left....
JimBob2232 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 Wow. Good game. Great game for the big east!
timmyk12 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Yep. 576792 I bet Reddick wishes he would have at gotten the ball on the last possession. Must Greg Paulus thought he was still at his old high school and was determined to take the last shot.
eball Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I don't relish in Duke defeats like I used to, but at least I don't have to worry about an undefeated season now. As a Carolina fan, working with several Dookies, that would be unbearable.
BuffOrange Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Wow. Good game. Great game for the big east! 576791 For sure - even Duke Vitale hasn't tried to make a case for ACC as the best conference this year.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 If UCONN wins tonight, they'll be #1. Let's go Huskies!
