marv was brought in to baby sit mularkey who's now gone. it makes sense that marv would be a liability to a seasoned competent coach like sherman. seems like there's signs this is in fact the case. marv's expanded role beyond GM responsibilities will cramp any good coach they can bring in -- for the good of the team, admit marv's not necessary in light of recent events, pay him some reduced compensation and keep him as a "special consultant" or something, but by all means do whats right for the team and lose the guy.

When the hell was the last time that this team did what was right for the team!

about 15 years ago -- which means we've suffered far too long already!!! if marv stays it will be "mularkey's revenge"

It's awesome that we're able to come to such conclusions based on nothing more than speculation from Buffalo's version of the Enquirer - WGR.

I hope most of you people are never in charge of anyone else's careers.

Nothing screams "we know what we're doing" louder than firing your GM after 10 days on the job.  Good call, jduncan1!

a lot less damaging than keeping the guy around when he's no longer needed and actually impairs ability to get the best coach available!

Or having the coach you just re introduced for the long term quit 10 days later!!

again, marv was brought in to baby sit mularkey -- mularkey is gone, unexpectedly. no competent coach will come here if it means being under marv's thumb. time to "refocus" marv

No, he was brought in to elicit old-time happy happy joy joy and appease a a whiny disintegrating fanbase. Look it's Uncle Marv, everything will be OK now!.

You really ought to listen to yourself. This board is so worked up about what the rest of the NFL thinks of the Bills, yet you advocate doing something that would do major harm to the franchise...based on a rumor, by the way.

Do you think Marv is driving away good coaching? How would the Bills look to a prospective coach if Levy got fired now? Mularkey did us a favor by leaving, and no one cares that he quit. Wilson and Levy will look very smart if they hire Sherman.

But no, lets do it your way. We'll hire people and then fire them as soon as WGR says anything bad about them. Then we'll scratch our heads wondering why no one wants to work for the Bills. B-):P:P:doh:

wrongo across the board. wgr report is just a small bit of information in the whole marv thing. we know he was brought in to be mularkey's over bearing big brother and we know mularkey jumped ship at the thought of it. we know marv has never been a GM and he has been out of football for 8 years. that he's at odds w/ wilson over the next coach is to be expected, be surprising if he wasn't: consider wilson wants the best coach for the team thinking it will be a normal GM-coach relationship, whereas marv wants a patsie and buddy like jauron so he can stick to the "GM-pseudo coach" role he was hired for.

as for what the league thinks, who the hell cares. all that matters is winning. did it stop bellicheck from leaving the jets after one day on the job? or waiving lawyer milloy? heck no, we should pattern ourselves after the most successful coach in the league woudl do which is do whats right for the team and refocus marv so we can get the best coach.

Darin isn't right (other than far right) very often but when he is right, he is absolutely right. WGR is the joke.

This has got to be one of the most negative threads I've seen in a while. Why the hell is everyone so down on Levy? He hasn't even made his first major decision as GM and everyone wants to toss him out. I think maybe the Bills should be given a year off -- a "Bye Year". THEN, maybe all you insolent bastards would appreciate that we even HAVE an NFL team! Levy WILL find a coach and he WILL find a good coach. I trust Levy's judgement. He doesn't have to make a decision today. He can take all the time he needs to find his guy.

I agree, why would anyone want a HOF coach looking over your shoulder. I man after such a successful season with so many spectacular coaching decisions, all Marv would have done is screw up the Mularky vision for the Bills. B-)
