I wondered if we were losing that distinction with all the crabbing lately even though we brag about being a True Fan in the 4-24 years. So I was checking out the web and found this about Phillie Iggle fans. Are these the best fans or what? Phillie Fans: * They booed Santa Claus in 1968 and pelted him with snowballs as he shouted, "You're not getting anything for Christmas." * They booed the first man to receive a hand transplant, who threw out the first pitch of a Phillies game, and the ball dribbled over the plate. * They jeered for 20 minutes as Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin lay paralyzed on the field with a career-ending injury. * They beat up Chief Zee, the Redskins mascot, smashing his eye, breaking his leg and stripping him to his underwear. Veterans Stadium was torn down last year. But Philadelphia fans continue to boast about "putting the fear of God" in opposing teams - and fans. Just a discussion starter. Now it's like Bills fans must have instant gratification for everything the teams does. One blown game or a bad play call and it's "off with the coaches head".
