That is actually bad news. In Buffalo, Mauck used to stand next to a finished Marv Levy and they would scream obscenities at the refs together while the DEFENSE was on the field.

A case could be made that Mauck had no talent to work with and that is why his OL sucked in Buffalo. No problem.

I make the case that at the end, both he and Marv were nothing but 2 ineffective coaches.

I hope that Marv has enough screws left to keep Mauck away from RWS.

The one thing I liked about Mauck was watching him run up and down the sidelines, screaming, yelling, cursing and slobbering. He was like a rabid dog, it was great!

Now his coaching on the other hand....

If anything, Mauck was funny to watch on the sidelines

Well, funny for me.  I dunno if Kelly the Fair and Balanced Dog has given his seal of approval

Very funny

Wasn't Mauck our OL coach under Phillips, not under Levy?

I recall Tom Bresnahan as Levy's OL coach, or is that inaccurate?

He was our coach from 1998-2000. I am too tired to remember if Levy was here in 98.

Wow, I never realized it but his last two years in Detroit they gave up the fewest sacks in each of those seasons. Damn sign him up, because the Lions don't really have a lot of horses on that line and he must have been doing something right.

Oh and my favorite line from the article:

. He reportedly was ejected late in the college all-star game for "charging across the field to the opposing sideline and throwing a punch, which did not land."

Clearly he'll be interviewing for HC jobs shortly. He's a good "football man".
