Chilly Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 On sportscenter tonight, Clayton said that Haslett is pretty much out of the running for the job, and he's going to become the Head Coach of Detroit in all likelyhood. He thinks that it's down to Juron and Sherman, with Juron having a slight lead right now after his interview.
SDS Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 So, the guy who hasn't interviewed yet is in 2nd place? wow, Clayton nailed that one.
Thailog80 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Sherman will have the lead after his interview (fingers crossed that he brings Jim Bates with him)
Chilly Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 So, the guy who hasn't interviewed yet is in 2nd place? wow, Clayton nailed that one. 571530 Haha, I was thinking the same thing when he said that. It'll change tomorrow. Sherman will have the lead after his interview (fingers crossed that he brings Jim Bates with him) 571532 I hope so. :-) I like Sherman.
ans4e64 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Sherman will have the lead after his interview (fingers crossed that he brings Jim Bates with him) 571532 yes, i'd like to see Bates in here as DC
The Merovingian Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Good, haslett was not my top choice. I say bring in Sherman
BigdaddyinOrlando Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Of the candidates left I like Sherman or Peyton. Does anyone know what kind of defense Bates or Jauron likes or is partial too. Hopefully it fits with the type of players already here and not a whole new scheme with which to get acclimated too!
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Sherman will have the lead after his interview (fingers crossed that he brings Jim Bates with him) 571532 DITTO. Bates = goodness How about this. Clayton should report that everyone who hasn't interviewed yet is not favored for the HC job at this point.
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Where does crap like this come from? Psycho friends?
CJPearl2 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 NFL on Sirius (Riggins, et al) seems to think that Russ Grimm is going to Detroit after the playoffs..and Riggins has an in with Grimm.
BravinSeattle Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Of the candidates left I like Sherman or Peyton. Does anyone know what kind of defense Bates or Jauron likes or is partial too. Hopefully it fits with the type of players already here and not a whole new scheme with which to get acclimated too! 571538 Peyton is to be named the new Saints HC.
swede316 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 fingers crossed that he brings Jim Bates with him And Brett Farve....Hey one can dream
Frez Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Who ever gets the head coaching job in Buffalo, he better be the right one this time! Get it right this time damn it!
RJsackedagain Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 And Brett Farve....Hey one can dream 571590 while they are at it, maybe Sher can grab a few offensive linemen on the trip east to Buffalo
swede316 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 while they are at it, maybe Sher can grab a few offensive linemen on the trip east to Buffalo Aren't you asking for a little too much?
Buftex Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Fat Freddie Smerlas seems to think that Detroit already knows who they are going with, but are going through the charade of interviewing everyone. Of course, Smerlas said they were going to go with Mike Singletary (said Millen was stung by charges of racism for his last coachig hire!), so what does he know? Didn't Clayton say Haslett was "the Bills man" just a few days ago? Didn't one of the ESPN "experts" say it was "90%" that Haslett would wind up in Buffalo? Where do these people come up with this shti?
Pennsyl-tucky Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Well call me stupid but I thought the Buffalo gig was Haslett's dream job? So you mean to tell me that His Boy Sherman (minus dog Peabody) is reporting that someone won't take a job that hasn't been offered to him yet, despite not so private pinings about how he's wanted this job all along? Makes no sense. And I think I'm dizzy from my own run-on sentence. Bottom line, no way Haslett signs with anyone until he at least interviews for the Buffalo job. Unless they flat-out tell him they're not interested in Haslett. I mean the Rams, Lions and Raiders jobs are still open, it's not panic time yet.
loadofmularkey Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Should I be the one to point out that it looks like Soprano was right?? I almost hate to say it but that would make him 2 for 2.
MDH Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 So if Clayton says Haslett is out I guess there will most likely be a press conf. next week introducing Haslett as our new head coach.
