ajzepp Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 lol yeah, I forget what group on campus did that, but they made the Austin paper like 5 months ago when they were filming it. I was hoping to see them on TV> 592961 Given the fact that they were in broad daylight, the make-up was actually quite convincing....kudos to them!
GoodBye Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Given the fact that they were in broad daylight, the make-up was actually quite convincing....kudos to them! 593017 Freaked me out.
bobblehead Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I thinks someone should sing Black Velvet, especially a girl in jeans. That would rock the !@#$ing sh-- out of the joint.
Rico Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 BUMP Let's see tonight... American Idol or Carolina-Duke. Hillbilly heaven either way, but I'm watching Idol.
ajzepp Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 BUMP Let's see tonight... American Idol or Carolina-Duke. Hillbilly heaven either way, but I'm watching Idol. 597843 lol....I'm kinda glad we're done with the auditions....I'm ready to start getting into the drama of the show. I can't wait to see that Paris chick again, and of course there's CRAZY DAVE, BABY!!!!!!!!
GoodBye Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 The guys dressed up in the knight outfits were pretty funny. I'm am also ready for the show to get going! Go crazy Dave!
Chilly Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Oh well, done with the auditions. Time for me to stop watching.
ajzepp Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Oh well, done with the auditions. Time for me to stop watching. 598131 No WAY man....we're just about to enter the 'creation of a millionaire' phase. Think about it....most of the time when someone becomes a star, they cut a single, get it some air play, people dig it and buy the CD, and they slowly but surely develop a fan base. With AI it's almost the opposite. On AI you get to know the contestants to the point where, if you watch on a regular basis, you can really come to like some of them. By the end of the show, a handful of them have an ESTABLISHED FAN BASE before they even know what in the world their first single will be. It's really brilliant if you think about it. The show takes a bunch of nobodys, introduces them to America over the course of a few months, and BAM!....you have millionaires. I don't know why more people don't find that fascinating....I just can't help but be interested
Rico Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 Yeah, you should at least watch Hell Week tonight... should be funny as hell, many tears will be flowing! GO CRAZY DAVE!
ajzepp Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Yeah, you should at least watch Hell Week tonight...should be funny as hell, many tears will be flowing! GO CRAZY DAVE! 598449 yeah, Blue....listen to Rico! Hell week is some dramatic sheeat!
ajzepp Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 CRAZY DAVE!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!! 598879 "I came, I saw, I jumped across the stage....I'm outta here!" -Crazy Dave I love it! That guy rules I was glad to see some more of the talent they have for this year....there are clearly a few folks who have a lot going for them. I forget the name of that one chick that was on toward the end, but I think her first name was Katherine. She has dark hair, very cute, and looks a little like phoebe cates. She just killed that song tonight....I hope she makes the final cut....wouldn't mind seeing her on a weekly basis And then of course you have little Paris....she's a powerhouse!
nick in* england Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I'm kinda disappointed we haven't seen too many rockers as yet... I'll wait out to see what Hollywood brings when they show it here tomorrow - but so far, the 'talent' has seemed VERY thin.

He has a pretty good rock voice. Those twins from Atlanta who almost didn't get to go to Hollywood because they got busted for staeling a car by writing a bad check, are very annoying. These 2 are such friggin' pre-madonnas, I can't wait until they're voted off.

I'll wait out to see what Hollywood brings when they show it here tomorrow - but so far, the 'talent' has seemed VERY thin. 599156 I was really worried about the talent until last night's show. There are some good singers in there. I'm with you, though, I'd love to see some rockers like last year. I think Bo Bice ruled. There are at least three or four guys who can really belt it, and probably at least that many women....and that's only with what I've seen so far. I'm pretty confident it will be a really good final 12. Of course, now that the front runner - Crazy Dave - has been ousted, it's really anyone's game

I totally agree with you....I actually really enjoyed their initial audition, but wow....they are amazingly annoying. No way do they make the top 12. The bald guy is awesome....He got a standing 'O' from the audience with his performance, and from the clip I heard it was well deserved. Hopefully he'll be in the top 12, along with that gray haired guy....that'll keep a nice mix of styles for the season.

He looks like he could be old enough to be my dad. Is he really as young as he says he is? I'm going to miss crazy Dave though. He was a lot of fun to watch while he was here!

The stuff showing now is pre-recorded so I'm sure they're gone before the actual voting starts....
LabattBlue Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 'American Idol' Crushes Grammys in Ratings Thursday February 9 5:23 PM ET Some humbling news for professional musicians like Madonna and U2: By a wide margin, TV viewers prefer the amateurs. Nearly twice as many people 28.3 million watched "American Idol" than watched the Grammy Awards 15.1 million when the two music programs went head-to-head in prime time Wednesday, according to Nielsen Media Research. In large part due to the "American Idol" competition, it was the least-watched Grammy Awards in Nielsen records dating back to the 1970s.
