boomerjamhead Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Remember that one pre-game show that one time where Esiason sacked up and called Peyton Manning 'this generation's Dan Marino?' Remember that? Well, that caused quite a stir at the time and I just wanted to point out to all of you that Esiason very well could have been right. Time will tell and when all is said and done, and if Esiason is right about all this... remember that you heard it here first.
Corp000085 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 He was right, and THEY were wrong for calling him on it.
VABills Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Not fair to Marino. At least he got to the Super Bowl once.

eball Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Not fair to Marino. At least he got to the Super Bowl once. 569960 Yeah...in his 2nd season when he still didn't know any better.
Corp000085 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 that reminds me of the nfl greatest games of the packers/broncos super bowl. a couple players (including favre) made a comment on how elway can have it cause brett et al. will have plenty more. never take anything for granted.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Was Marino on the show then with Boomer when he said it?

Remember that? 569918 Why will Manning get injured and get job pitching insurance when on IR llike Marino did? I have not see Manning killing his RBs like Marino did.
Coach Tuesday Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Matt Leinart reminds me of the next Esiason.
Moose Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Matt Leinart reminds me of the next Esiason. 570253 No, something tells me that Leinart will be the next Ryan Leaf!
Hollywood Donahoe Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Was Marino on the show then with Boomer when he said it? Yeah, and he shot Boomer a look that could kill. Not much he could say about it, though. Boomer's statement was thoroughly grounded in reality.

Hollywood Donahoe Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Shoulda slapped Boomer with a pair of Isotoner gloves... Would a duel have then been in order? Back to back, take ten paces, turn and fire footballs at each other's heads?
