Moose
I don't have a problem with it, and I bet Dungy doesn't either. Manning and his offense felt that they were getting to do or die terrtory. A coach "has to" make the call to punt there, but the offense was telling him "Trust us Coach, we can do this!" Dungy doesn't want to squelch that attitude and defers to the guys on the field. THAT is actually a good coaching decision! Way to go! The turnaround has begun.
MadBuffaloDisease
Yeah but it worked. And where is Dungy's defense?

They need to shutup and do what they're told!!!" People can't have it both ways. CW
daquixers_is_back
LOL - I just posted that as a reply a few minutes earlier. But it is true. Manning has more say than Dungy does ... and if it comes down to who has to leave ... Manning or Dungy ... I think the Colts would be saying there farewells to the Coach. But I like them both a lot. Dungy is a good guy and so is Manning.

But that was a gut decision thing and Dungy let them start feeling their mojo. I think he did a great job there!

Though, it is kind of depressing that when our players don't listen to the coaches, they won't go back on the field, while when Indy's players do it, they won't come off. The Dean
I'm sure Tony is quite upset. Puhleeze. If there was a problem, he would have burned a time out and sat Peyton down Dungy runs the team...but, it's Manning's offense. BTW, if you didn't like that...well, you just don't like football, IMO. Lord Chinfist
To be honest though, Dungy looked dejected after that. I thought he looked like he was thinking "Manning just disobeyed my call, I'm pissed, but what can I do?"

MadBuffaloDisease
I'm sure Dungy is pissed they got the 1st down. Oh and the Colts got hosed on that 4th down play where they just replayed the down over, because Faneca moved and it should have been a punt. The spot was pretty terrible on the sneak as well. CW
daquixers_is_back
Yeah. It was sad that the result of a referee miscue is a couple minutes off of the clock for Indianapolis.
hootie1
nm 568336[/snapback] Saw Dungy interviewed post-game. He said that peyton called back the offense because Tony told him to in his helmet set. punt team only ran out becasue they were "overenthusiastic." KRT88
I guess the guys on the sidelines were not telling him they were going for it. No way that could happen.
