obie_wan Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 why is Capers flying under the radar as a serious HC possibility with prior HC expereience and a strong affinity to playing a 3-4 defense?
rolly Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 why is Capers flying under the radar as a serious HC possibility with prior HC expereience and a strong affinity to playing a 3-4 defense? 566933 Honestly, I'd love to see a 3-4 defense. But the question is, do we have the depth and versatility to do so?
Greybeard Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I wondered the same thing. Posters with a list of 10 candidates and no mention of Capers!
/dev/null Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Genital warts 566938 How did that happen? Did Caper's 34 defense get some good penetration on Ron Mexico?

Mark VI Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Maybe cause he's not a good head coach? 567045 That's probably closer to the truth. A good coordinator who just can't get over the hump. If people remember, when Carolina and Jacksonville first started up in 1995, the 2 franchises had vastly different views of how to build the team. Carolina went out and got multiple Vet Free Agents with a "win now" attitude. They were in the NFC Championship game their 2nd year ! The Jags used their first 2 picks on 2 All-American Offensive Lineman. Tony Boselli of USC and Brain DiMarco of Michigan State. They were patient under Coughlin and stayed consistent, while Carolina was a 1 year wonder for a while. I thought Houston had some good young talent but looked lost under Capers.

What has he ever won? He had one winning record in something like 8 years of head coaching. No thank you. And if you want to say something about the talent he had to work with being subpar, well why bring him into Buffalo where the talent ain't necessarily up to snuff, especially where it counts on the offensive and defensive lines? You must really want that 7-9 record, eh?
