Zac Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Among the names already speculated as possible replacements for Mularkey are former New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett, recently fired Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell and current Bills special teams coach Bobby April. Haslett and Cottrell served on Buffalo coaching staffs in the past. Haslett has strong ties to Bills assistant general manager Tom Modrak and some current and past players have already begun lobbying for Cottrell to be interviewed. April was the league's special teams coach of the year in 2004, is popular with players, and is seeking a head coach position. Per ESPN. Interesting.
DC Mom Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Marv does love the kicking teams and he did coach them himself...
MadBuffaloDisease Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 How many ST's coaches have become NFL HC's?
DC Mom Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 How many ST's coaches have become NFL HC's? 564287 I don't know, but Herm Edwards was just a defensive backs coach when he was hired.

Rico Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 some current and past players have already begun lobbying for Cottrell to be interviewed. 564280 Isn't Moulds the only player left from the Cottrell days in Buffalo? EM sure is opinionated these days.
Bear Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I'll admit I don't know why, but I would really like it if Bobby April were named HC. Of course, it may be all this giddiness for the MM news hasn't worn off yet.
