BuffaloWings Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 If this happens, PLEASE MARV, hir Kirk Ferentz PLEEEEEEASE 563272 It would be nice, but I saw something this morning that said Kirk took his name out of the running for any possible NFL openings.
Sound_n_Fury Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Yeah how in the world does this stuff leak out? Can't these guys hold meetings in private? 563274 Clayton's under the table again feeding this stuff to Mort via his cell phone...
Fan in San Diego Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 That phrase about heat and the kitchen thing comes to mind. If MM wants to quit, I would accept his resignation and dont let the door hit ya where the lord split ya !
Peter Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Yeah how in the world does this stuff leak out? Can't these guys hold meetings in private? 563274 I bet it is MM (or people connected with him) who are leaking this. The guy was grinning from ear to ear last week. Perhaps, he does not like the criticism that he is receiving internally within the organization the past week.
pdj Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I'd be somewhat suspect of this rumor. If he's decided to quit, why in the world would he blame it on his family? Even if that's the reason, he'd come up with some other more palatable excuse.
soldier Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Bills | Mularkey to resign? Thu, 12 Jan 2006 12:51:27 -0800 ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Buffalo Bills head coach Mike Mularkey reportedly met with team president Ralph Wilson and general manager Marv Levy Thursday, Jan. 12, about resigning from the head coaching post. The resignation is not forced, as Wilson and Levy are trying to convince him to stay.
The Tomcat Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Mort talking about Mularkey. Might Quit. 563253 GOOD!
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Maybe Mularkey's pregnant? He did look like he gained some chunkatude this season.
hootie1 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Maybe this leak is a face saving way to let Mularkey go. Perhaps Marv never really agreed with Ralph that MM should stay, and now he's getting rid of him. Saying it's because MM wants to go is face saving for both MM and Ralph

Even if that's the reason, he'd come up with some other more palatable excuse. 563290 How much do you want to bet that the real disagreement is who will be hired as OC and DC.
The Tomcat Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Marv always said if your thinking about retirement (leaving) you already have... School of Marv....101 I always remembered that and anytime I hear someone say their thinking about retirement I always think, they already have...Marv would be proud
drnykterstein Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 So what OC or DC would want to work with him now??? Jesus H. Christ...this is getting FUG'd up. 563299 You be the DC I'll be the OC, and T80 can be the head coach or something.
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Mort talking about Mularkey. Might Quit. 563253 Mort might quit? Seriously, I am guessing that Mularkey realized that he has no control and is basically on a short leash. He is either trying to angle for a better position/more power or he truly does want out.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Oh god...if Meathead 2.0 leaves the Bills, does that leave the door open for Meathead 1.0 to come in and take his place? Ralph is a cheap bastard when it comes to hiring head coaches...he could EASILY see Mike Tice as the best available (and cheapest) HC canidate.

Arkady Renko Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I totally understand why college football coaches often turn down the opportunity to coach in the NFL. A college football coach can have an entire career in one place and make tons of money. In the NFL, most fail and most leave after a few years.
