Sound_n_Fury
Oh god...if Meathead 2.0 leaves the Bills, does that leave the door open for Meathead 1.0 to come in and take his place? Ralph is a cheap bastard when it comes to hiring head coaches...he could EASILY see Mike Tice as the best available (and cheapest) HC canidate. 563306 Now there's an image: Marv working with Tice.... Ramius
While i dont condone the insults fired toward a coach's or athlete's or celebrities family, they are in the spotlight and have to know enough that criticism is going to come no matter where you are. You need thick skin for any type of job that puts you in the spotlight. That being said, Mularkey deserves plenty of criticism for this season, as well as last season. Perhaps had he not thrown to shelton so much, or actually used some of our best players, instead of sticking with his little "packages", or started JP against the jets instead of trying to save his job, he wouldnt be criticized as much. Also, being forced to fire almost all of your assistants means that ownership is basically giving you a 1 year tryout for your job, not exactly an enviable situation to be in. RJsackedagain
Although he may still be talked into staying on the job, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen and ESPN.com on Thursday that Buffalo Bills coach Mike Mularkey was in an afternoon meeting with high-ranking team officials that could lead to his resignation. If is believed that the meeting includes Bills owner Ralph Wilson and newly-appointed general manager Marv Levy. Sources said that, because of family considerations, Mularkey intended to walk away after only two seasons, but felt that he needed to meet with Bills management before he formally tendered his resignation. Mularkey had lengthy meetings with Wilson last week as the Bills owner dramatically reshuffled the football operation. Wilson fired team president/general manager Tom Donahoe, re-hired Levy, the Hall of Fame coach who led the Bills to four Super Bowl appearances, and made other changes to the front office. It is believed that Wilson also suggested changes in the coaching staff and Mularkey subsequently dismissed five assistants. In two seasons, Mularkey has compiled a 14-18 record, including a disappointing 5-11 mark in 2005. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2289987

JoeF
This is just ridiculous......If this is true, 2 things... 1) Let MM go. He is obviously unhappy and unstable. Get him help, but don't make him be head coach. 2) Find whoever the hell is leaking this crap and fire their ass.

MDH
While I hope the "family considerations" is nothing serious I also hope that Ralph and Marv accept the resignation. This will put us a year ahead of schedule during this latest rebuilding.

Beerball
563340 Seriously though, why would you (try to talk him out of leaving)? Ralph gets to keep his cash, and the team gets started under a new HC one year early. If the report is true do you really want him coaching your football team?
