Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Favorite Childhood Athlete: Fernando Valenzuela Favorite Athlete in Adulthood: Lance Armstrong I'm not really even a bicycling fan, but I think for toughness, pounde per peound this guy is tougher than ANY athlete in competition today.
bills_fan Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Tough one...either Jim Kelly or Joe DiMaggio
MDH Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 The first person that came into my mind was Barry Sanders. Just a joy to watch and he never opened his mouth of acted like it was a big deal when he scored a TD. His accomplishments in the sport meant so little to him that he retired a year before he was likely to break the all time rushing mark. A mark that Emit Smith never would have touched had Sanders played 3-4 more years. Just a class guy and spectacular athlete.
MDH Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Barry Sanders 563217[/snapback] Hah, and while I was typing my reply somebody else beat me to the punch!

And I agree with everything in your post. We may never see another like him.

Corp000085 Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Grant Fuhr, Pat LaFontaine, Jim Kelly. Fuhr was the reason why i picked up a goalie stick when i was about 10... We're both lefties, so i thought that was neat.
Beerball Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 stuckincincy Oh, you said athelete, that would have to Talley.
