OnTheRocks Posted January 12, 2006 Share Posted January 12, 2006 THREAD# 784 RE: NFL Draft Jets will interview Mangini on Sunday here is my thought. if the Jets hire Mangini as their new head coach.....it seems to me that a defensive minded coach would be more inclined to go after a stud defensive player with his first pick in the draft. With the Packers looking at Jim Bates, or Wade Phillips as their next HC, again, is there a stronger possibility that they will go after the best available defensive player because that is what they know best. Leading to the increased chance of Ferguson falling to them at #8. I still like the idea of bulking the OL with Hutchinson and Bently in FA and building the DL in the draft, but i like the Ferguson a whole bunch too.
