YOOOOOO Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Not just one player...... Bledsoe has underthrown recievers, held on the ball alittle to long at times and took an untimely sack that took us out of FG range.... Our RB's(Henry, Mcgahee, Shelton) have missed missed blitz pick-ups, dropped passes, and have had a hard time running effectively Our WR's(Moulds, Reed, Evans, Shaw) have dropped passes, run routes short of first down(on 3rd down), fumbled the ball away, and probably have had trouble gettin some good seperation Our TE's(Campbell, Neufield, Euhus) have done the same as the WR's, plus poor overall blocking... Our OL(Jennings, LSmith, Teague, Villarrial, MWilliams) have not run block well(RB's gettin hit in the backfield every other play), not pass blocked well, picked up the blitz well, untimely penalties, and no goaline push Blaming just Bledsoe or Henry or Moulds or OL is the dumbest stevestojan i keep reading...It's like y'all havent been watching the games....and just focusing on putting the blame on one person shoulders or one unit.... If Bledsoe doesnt take a sack in FG range, If Henry gets into the endzone once, If Moulds doesnt fumble in the redzone, If Reed, Campbell, Neufield dont drop multiple passes, if the OL got alil goaline push..... There alot of blame to go around Cant we all agree that its just not one person's fault....That this overall UNIT has sucked and they all need to step up....

You pointed out the offenses miscues, but there are some glaring weaknesses all over this TEAM that are being overshadowed because of the Bledsoe bashing that is so in vogue today (I'm not saying you're one of them) The special team blunders costing the team great field position on Sunday, and a crucial Missed FG in week one. The defense: In 2 games they allowed THREE 4th down conversions with the game on the line, and a 3rd and 27 conversion for a TD in Oakland. If we take Bledsoe out of the argument for a moment, this TEAM, had they played some decent fundamental football, should be 2-0. Both games they should have scored at least 20 points, and given up no TD's on defense and had a special team that would be very impressive. All that with Bledsoe so called crappy play. If the QB is the problem with this team, then I want to see a new QB than can catch, block, knock Passes down, don't let receivers get behind him on a 3rd and long, not hold on returns, take stupid penalties, etc, etc, etc. Folks blame it on Bledsoe it's easy, it's sweet and simple and makes one not see what's really the problem, the Bills are not a very good TEAM
Nervous Guy Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Thank YOOOOOO for the nice summary. 40002[/snapback]
BuffOrange Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 For the 498,783rd time, nobody is saying it's ALL Bledsoe's fault. Clearly, when your offense is pathetic as ours is, everyone is to blame. If at least a couple of guys were playing well, they would at least score one TD when it mattered, without the help of the defense. But ultimately it's the QB's responsibility to make a play once in a while, OK? His #1 job above all else is to help his team score points. It sucked that Josh Reed dropped that 3rd down pass, but that kind of play doesn't stop other teams from getting shut down the ENTIRE GAME. You come back on the next series, and move the ball - which Bledsoe has failed to do over & over again. I mean, did anybody see how many passes Jacksonville dropped against us? More than we did. You also have to be a realist. If you're wating for all 11 guys to suddenly start playing well, it ain't going to happen. However, if you replace the most important player on offense, and upgrade that position, there might at least be a glimmer of hope that the unit becomes close to servicable.....not great, not good, not even average.....just good enough to score, I dunno, slightly below league average, like 17 pts/game. That's all this offense has to do to win some games with the defense we have, and it's painfully obvious that it can't happen with Bledsoe. And since we can't go out and find 5 good OLmen at this point in the year, what other alternatives do we have? Shane Matthews may not be the answer, nor JP as a rookie when he gets healthy, but what do we have to lose?
