TheZone78 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Just stating the obvious here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...&page=morning18 Cheers Wrong link: Even though he hasn't been officially dismissed yet, defensive coordinator Jerry Gray will not be back with the Buffalo Bills. The team did not want to affect his opportunities to interview for head coaching positions by firing him now. ...
buffaloboyinATL Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Wow, that's a lot to read. Does it really say in there somewhere that Gray is gone?
Ramius Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Wow, that's a lot to read. Does it really say in there somewhere that Gray is gone? 559983 No. It talks about the divisional playoff games.

Spiderweb Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 No. It talks about the divisional playoff games. 559986 It's there , in the right hand column, down under "heard in the press box" area...
sfladave Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Is this "not firing Jerry so that it looks better for Jerry while he job searches" like the 2% advantage we get for not telling who our starting QB will be? Does ANYBODY buy this chit?

Does ANYBODY buy this chit? 560113 If Gray's performance in 2005 is not enough to warrant firing, I don't know what more he would have do in the F-up department. I'd say JG has less than a 2% chance of finding an equal or better job. Marv(Ralph?, MM?) is going to have to fire him, I'm afraid.

macaroni Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 That is a crock of BS ......... the reason Gray has not been fired yet ...... and the ONLY reason that he hasn't been fired, is that if for some ungodly reason he gets hired as a HC, the Bills do not have to pay him any remaining wages or severence package ..... however if he is fired, some sort of severence package is owed. IMHO ...... either the Bills know they are going after a replacement who is currently in the playoffs ........ or have a "verbal agreement" with someone currently available so therefore time is on the Bills side.
