30dive Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Funny you say that some folks here in Richmond, (trying to keep him in Blacksburg) had offered as a solution, that his scholarship be pulled but let him stay on the team "at his opwn expense". LMAO
smokinandjokin Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 personally i've seen worse, i mean to be kicked out of the damn school? come on, im hoping it was just because it was the last straw then i understand. And i give credit to the school for actually following procedure with a talented athlete and not brushing it under the rug. 559542 Don't give the school too much credit. They brushed his latest traffic infraction from mid-December under the rug so that he could play in the bowl game. Then, the QB coach and offensive coordinator saw him stomp on the Louisville player's leg, and both were extremely upset and wanted to pull Vick from the game. However, they were losing at the time, and guess what??? Their actions speak louder than their words: They didn't pull him, and VT came back to win. The dude has been a mess since he got to VT. I think he would have been better served going somewhere else, further away from home, to play in a stadium where his brother's jersey was not hanging retired in the rafters. By the way, he was suspended for VT's ACC title season last year. Does anybody think that if VT did not have Bryan Randall returning at QB, somehow Vick would not have been suspended? I do give them credit for booting him, but not too much. I agree, not one of his incidents was shockingly horrible, but added together, they show a kid who thinks everyone owes him something and he doesn't learn from his mistakes.
todd Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I can't believe I actually read a post suggesting Buffalo wast their time with a classless loser like Vick. And I can't understand why there are actually Buffalo Bills fans who would advocate for someone who purposefully injures another player. Dude, get real.
Guest BackInDaDay Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I agree, not one of his incidents was shockingly horrible559839 Like you said, the school tolerated this type of behaviour because of his value to their football program. I don't need him, so I don't have to. For me, this was his worst infraction - http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...-arrested_x.htm Here's a follow-up - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5989204
PromoTheRobot Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Smart thing for Marcus, go to a smaller college and play, and get his education. Prove to all he is a man by picking up and moving on. The enter draft in the future for big money. An apology also goes a longgggggg way. 559547 "Hello, Marcus...This is Turner Gill...." PTR

plenzmd1 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I can't believe I actually read a post suggesting Buffalo wast their time with a classless loser like Vick. And I can't understand why there are actually Buffalo Bills fans who would advocate for someone who purposefully injures another player. Dude, get real. 559847 Todd, that was me, and let me play devils advocate for a minute. The drinking and having sex with the 15 yr olds is pretty scary, but we really have no clue what happened. I hear there are 15 and 16 year old girls all the time who look, act, and say they are 21, (i guessI am out of the loop a little here). Dude was a freshman in college,19, I cannot expect him to have the same judgement as an adult. The driving incidents to me are really MINOR, and I mean REALLY minor.I may not be correct, but I do not believe he was charged with either driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. Little weed in the car is all and speeding(again my morality, but to me that not a big deal). When I saw Beamer on the local news here, he indictated this lates driving while suspended was due to an insurance mixup, and not the earlier reckless driving(sametime as the weed in the car) Next, this latest incident. My gut is that Vick was the sacrificial lamb in Beamer wanting to bring back some credibility to the program. When a ref says"those kids were out of control", ya gotta do something, and Vick gave them the ammunition. As for on field incidents, I've seen much worse. Like I said, that UVA incident was as bad as they get. Or for that matter, how bout Haslett kicking Bradshaw in the head lo those many years ago. Were you screaming for the Bills to let him go after that? But I guess the gist of my post was the Bills need young QBs in this organiztion. What in the hell Shane Matthews was doing on this team was beyond me right from the start. No matter what you say about the Pats, they address the QB position the way it should addressed, picking one every stinkin year, and keeping them either as 3rd QB, or on the PS. Christ, they picked Cassell in the 7th and had to put him on the active roster so he wouldn't get taken from them.
JoeFerguson Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Marcus Vick highlight video. http://media.putfile.com/Marcus-Vick-Highlight-2005 And for those who missed the "accident". http://media.putfile.com/VT-THUG-1 559658 If you can watch this video and still say you want a guy like this on the Bills, then I think you are a nutcase. No matter how physically talented either of the Vicks are, I would never want them on the Bills because they are both classless. Neither Vick will ever win a Super Bowl because they both lack heart.
30dive Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I'll bite.........19 is an adult when we want to punish, or hold accountable, but when it comes to other adult issues, drinking, insurance, credit, etc., etc., they are just kids. I am NO fan of Marcus Vick but he is still a kid. God willing he will someday grow up, and enjoy the gifts the good lord gave him.
The Dean Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 From what I understand, his license was suspended not from the previous incident, but something to do with his insurance. I had similiar issues in my youth, and was once thrown in the pokey for a couple of hrs for driving on a suspended for a 4 yr old ticket that i never paid from another state. I know they had to do what they had to do, but in my mind all the incidents, including this last "stomping" were pretty minor. 559698 I've been stopped and ticketed for not having a license on SEVERAL occasions. All because of DMV and/or insurance SNAFU's. I was not aware that my license and registration had been suspended. (Still my fault as I'm pretty lax about paying fines, doing renewals and insurance and stuff like that. I REALLY need a personal assistant.) Anyway, my point is, on all of those occasions, the cop told me he was supposed to arrest me and take the car...but didn't. They just ticked me and sent me on my way...one time they made the passenger drive away. They didn't HAVE to arrest him for that, and my guess is if had been an older guy in a suit they wouldn't have. Of course, that's just a guess. Traffic stuff is so freakin minor, IMO, it should't even be reported.
/dev/null Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 More I think about it, I'd rather take my chances drafting /dev/null and his picard do-rag than Marcus. 559755 Picard brings veteran leadership And i'm an undersized white guy with a high motor Git 'r done...
