bud8andbills Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Michael Vick? 3rd round? 4th at best. Can not take the risk. After all, other then his feet, where has Michael's head got him? We need a smart guy like a Peyton Manning, cool customer like Tom Brady, leadership of a Jim Kelly. This isn't Marcus, but 4th round is worth the risk.
jester43 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 honestly, i am surprised anyone is even talking about this guy. he's an idiot and we don't want him on the roster AT ALL...even as an UDFA.
ans4e64 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I think if the team that gets him as a strong organization and a scary head coach i.e. parcells, he might be ok. He is clearly better than Michael, it isnt even an argument. Whatever team that gets him could potentially have a franchise QB. This isnt like maurice clarett or adrian mcphearson where you dont know if they will be a franchise player or a bust, we know for a fact marcus can play and will be a star, for this reason its a shame i think he will still go on the first day even though he shouldnt but he will. i think he needs someone to set him straight, probably a strong headed guy in front of him like a brett favre or someone.
bud8andbills Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 The shame of it all for Marcus, is he was just retaliating. New penalty for "Grab and Hold" facemask calls: 15 yards, and 15 minutes of game clock time off the field for the guilty player. As well as other dirty plays, like chop blocks. Maybe a fine as well.
ans4e64 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 personally i've seen worse, i mean to be kicked out of the damn school? come on, im hoping it was just because it was the last straw then i understand. And i give credit to the school for actually following procedure with a talented athlete and not brushing it under the rug.
bud8andbills Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Smart thing for Marcus, go to a smaller college and play, and get his education. Prove to all he is a man by picking up and moving on. The enter draft in the future for big money. An apology also goes a longgggggg way.
jarthur31 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 This Vick isn't as talented as his bro and I think he will suck for a very long time in the pros.
Tux of Borg Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Marcus Vick highlight video. http://media.putfile.com/Marcus-Vick-Highlight-2005 And for those who missed the "accident". http://media.putfile.com/VT-THUG-1

Then 3 weeks ago got pulled over again for speeding with no license. Im just wondering how news of this didn't get out until after the bowl game. Since the school was just following trough with the earlier warning they gave him after the first arrest.

Since the school was just following trough with the earlier warning they gave him after the first arrest. 559666 From what I understand, his license was suspended not from the previous incident, but something to do with his insurance. I had similiar issues in my youth, and was once thrown in the pokey for a couple of hrs for driving on a suspended for a 4 yr old ticket that i never paid from another state. I know they had to do what they had to do, but in my mind all the incidents, including this last "stomping" were pretty minor. I tell you this, that stomp was a lot more tame than that hit by the UVA guy on the BC defensive end, and that dude only got a 1 game suspension. I know it was the cumualtive effect, but none of these things have been violent, or misogynistic, or anything like that. If hes available, I'd take him on the second day. Crimminy, I screamed all year we should have had a young QB as the 3rd QB, or at least on the practice squad. Yep, having Shane there sure paid dividends. Anybody see that Cassell kid play for the Pats, looked pretty good. And yes, it was the Pats, who have arguably one of the top three QBs in the NFL, who drafted him in the 7th, and kept him as they know that drafting young QBs every year is the way to go.Thats how they "lucked" into Brady.

Guest BackInDaDay Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Marcus Vick Dismissed from Football Team by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com Virginia Tech President Charles Steger announced late Friday afternoon that quarterback Marcus Vick has been dismissed from the football team due to legal trouble off the field and unsportsmanlike play on the field. The dismissal brings an end to the wild ride that was the Marcus Vick era, which was always filled with promise, yet never materialized the way that Virginia Tech fans hoped. After red shirting during the 2002 season, Vick was suspended for the James Madison game in 2003 for an undisclosed violation of team rules. He split time with Bryan Randall for much of the season, leading the Hokies to a big victory over Miami and flashing ability that gave Tech fans great hope for the future of the program. Vick ran afoul of the law following the 2003 season when he was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Shortly after that incident, Vick was arrested for reckless driving and possession of marijuana. Following his second arrest in a manner of months, Vick was suspended from the university for the fall of 2004, and watched from home as Bryan Randall led the Hokies to the ACC Championship and a berth in the Sugar Bowl. Vick was allowed to return to Virginia Tech with the understanding that if he got into anymore trouble, he would be permanently dismissed. On December 17, Vick was arrested in Hampton for driving with a suspended license, which stems from his reckless driving incident in 2004. During the Gator Bowl, Vick was caught on camera stomping at the leg of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil. This incident created a lot of bad press for Virginia Tech throughout the week, and as a result of his recent actions on the field and off the field, Vick has been dismissed. There will be a press conference in Blacksburg on Saturday morning, January 7 at 11am. President Charles Steger, athletics director Jim Weaver, and head coach Frank Beamer will be in attendance. USA Today Vick, family to discuss future after dismissal from Va. Tech Vick told The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk Friday night that he would turn professional. A family friend told the Daily Press of Newport News that Vick would announce intentions to turn pro on Saturday. "It's not a big deal," Vick told The Virginian-Pilot when spotted at a Virginia Beach restaurant. "I'll just move on to the next level, baby." Hopefully not as a Bill.
EC-Bills Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 More I think about it, I'd rather take my chances drafting /dev/null and his picard do-rag than Marcus.
The Poojer Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I do not believe he was kicked out of school, just off the football team, this kid is a head case and not even worth thinking about as a member of our team personally i've seen worse, i mean to be kicked out of the damn school? come on, im hoping it was just because it was the last straw then i understand. And i give credit to the school for actually following procedure with a talented athlete and not brushing it under the rug. 559542
KD in CA Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I say we take him but only if we can get Maurice Clarett too. 559714 Maybe Lawrence Phillips is available to round out the backfield.
30dive Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 He was kicked off the team, not out of school. However, Im thinking there won't be a sheepskin hanging on his office...errr...locker room wall very soon. That said, with the new leadership in Buffalo, you know the Character Counts group, No way in Hell Marcus becomes a Bill. I for one can live with that! We do however need a third QB and I am sure we can find a quality, character guy from somewhere in the MAC to do that.
LewPort71 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Marcus Vick....I can see him in Silver AND Black with Randy Moss as his buddy...
dib Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 He was kicked off the team, not out of school. \ Gee I guess he'll have to take out a loan to finish his education now that they've pulled his scholarship.
