bills_fan Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 It wasn't Hermdinger, it was Whisenhut (sp) who is Pitts current OC.
DrFishfinder Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 a problem bigger than play calling was the design of the plays. If MM stays, then that problem will not go away. Any offense which has your best players operating as decoys needs to be retooled. 556909[/snapback] I tend to agree with you, there. How many times did McGahee NOT get the ball on 3rd and short or inside the 10 yard line? Trick plays only work when you are the tricker and not the trickee.

Leave Willis on the damn field instead of trying to confuse the other team by taking him out of the game in critical situations.
eball Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 These questions are moot until there is a viable OL in place. We don't know whether or not MM's love affair with trickery and "packages" was a function of having no faith in the OL. We also don't know what role Ol' Whitey played in the offensive schemes. One thing is for certain -- Marv's philosophy is to put players in the best position to succeed, and you can bet he'll try to instill that philosophy in MM and the new OC.

Not all OC's call their own plays, but if they aren't designing them, then they aren't OCs.
