Wraith Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Lost amid the chaos of today's events is the news that Alex Van Pelt has joined Turner Gill's staff at UB as Quarterback's Coach and "Passing Game Coordinator." This is a pretty interesting move. He's somewhat of a local hero and we've known about his coaching aspirations for a while. I will miss him in the booth with Murph next year though.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Good for Alex, I know he was trying to break into the coaching world for awhile now.
Sound_n_Fury Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Nowhere to go but up! I'll miss him in the booth, however.
Wraith Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 Hero??? 554082 I said somewhat. He has a following....
Mark VI Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I will miss him in the booth with Murph next year though. 554077 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHA ! Nice guy but the biggest homer EVER. Our QB's did NOTHING wrong the last 2 years, in his view.

Chef Jim Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I said somewhat. He has a following.... 554088 Oh ok, that clarifies it.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Here's hoping he takes over UB's program in a few years so we'll have a virtual Alex Van Pelt patrolling the sidelines in NCAA Football 2010. Nothing would be finer than the Doughboy on my PS3.
Sound_n_Fury Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 That's what I liked about him. What the heck do I care if the announcer is rooting for the same team I am? 554098 Exactly. AVP was very entertaining. You want backbiting and self flagilation...come to TSW and live it up.
LabattBlue Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I don't know if Turner Gill has hired a OC or DC yet, but I'm hoping AVP turns out to be a good hire. GO UB!!!
LabattBlue Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 UB side note...The bb team is pounding Eastern Michigan by 20+ points in the second half of their conference opener.
bluenews Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 best career backup quarterback to ever wear the #10 Bills jersey.
DCBongo Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I would have rather had the Dough Boy for a season, then The Staute from New England.
N.Y. Orangeman Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 best career backup quarterback to ever wear the #10 Bills jersey. 554277 Aren't you going out on a limb?
ExiledInIllinois Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 My thinking all along was to pull him from the booth. Good for UB! Before Marv was coach, wasn't he in the booth with Van?
WVUFootball29 Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Glad to see AVP finally gets his chance to coach. Good for him
NorCal Aaron Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Take Burris with you. And the person in charge of the music intros.
