CoachChuckDickerson Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Ralph held off on the firing of MM for a day or two so Mularkey had time to contact all the guys on his staff personally instead of hearing it on TV......I have no proof of this but it wouldn't surprise me. Just my two cents.
canadian bill Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Because he is going to hire Bob Bratkoski and has to wait for the Bengals to be out of the playoffs first.
OnTheRocks Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 he said he doesn't fire coaches. his GM's do that. at least i think that is what i heard him say.... at least i thought it was Ralph. I might have been Shecky Greene at the podium.
JoeF Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Its the "one thing at a time PR strategy" that is in the NFL "dealing with the media" playbook. Tomorrow is Fire Mularkey day. Friday is new GM day. Concurrent starting tonight, is the Coach search dance starts with the interviews to satisfy the Rooney rule. It all ends with a press conference Monday or Tuesday to announce the new coach....
