HarkinBanks Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I think that any influence Marv can have on this organization is a positive. He always was classy and emphasized intelligence. I also thought part of the reason the current team was not "mentally tough" was because management no longer focused as much on the intelligence of the players. I also don't have a problem with his age. If you read his book and understand his history and character, this should not be a concern. I can only imagine the types of guys on this team with Marv's influence...hungry, smart, more small school...bring back the Jamie Muellers, Andre Reeds and Don Beebes. Here are some classic Marvisms from the past: "There is a tremendous tendency when you don't win to ask whose fault it is rather than to seek out a solution" "Expect rejection, but expect even more strongly to overcome it" "The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender" "Adversity is an opporunity for heroism" This could be a great chapter in NFL history...the old man coming back and turning it around!!! At the least, I for one will be more supportive of this team and organization because I believe in Marv.
