Looks like it. That's a Schitload of money. I can't blame Gregg for taking it.

That sound you just heard was 31 other teams owners groaning in unison at the new price point Dan Snyder has set for top coordinators.

Not in Buffalo. :D

Isn't GW another case of a guy that learned the hard way in his first years with Buffalo and now he has his pick of HC jobs - we'll see how long he waits for the 'skins job. Does Gibbs have plans to retire again?

Oh man, that's a lotta jack. He'd be an idiot to pass that up. Makes sense since the speculation around DC is that he was always in line to take over from Gibbs whenever that is. That's why they gave Gregg the "Asst Head Coach" monikor .

That will buy a lot of Greggggg's wardrobe mainstay, the infamous ugly pullover sweater....

I can't believe that he is in such hot demand...his game management skills deteriorated over the course of three years and they were substandard to begin with. The comparisons to Belichick are laughable..Belichick has always been a great strategist, developer of talent and game coach...his last year in Cleveland was the franchise exit year--before that he had the Browns on a pretty positive path--11-5 the year before the franchise move was announced..

I think he will take over for Gibbs when he retires

That's the obvious conclusion.

It was an easy decision for GW. Hell, he's getting paid more than a lot of head coaches with far less pressure and stress. His kids probably attend the DC area schools so why would he want to move onto a head coaching position with a crap team when he can do what he does best under a legend of a coach. Eventually he'll succeed him or just take on a head coaching spot when he wants it. That money makes it worth it on his part to remain as a defensive coordinator.

Good move by Snyder for assuring the 'Skins will have a solid, if not excellent defense for the next 3 years.
