Formerly Allan in MD Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Tim McCarver or Brent (I am smooth so you should enjoy listening to me, no matter what I say) Musburger? Both of them what to make me vomit. But at least McCarver knows baseball. Musburger, on the other hand, is not only a windbag, but knows absolutely nothing about what he is talking about. "The Ohio State linemen are like gods. Look at whatshisname, he's going into his squat." Oh for a voice and a good agent.

/dev/null Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Classic Brent Mussberger moment With Notre Dame driving, Brady Quinn was back to pass. As the play develops Brent comments that Notre Dame has not been able to get anything downfield. A second later Quinn hits his receiver for like 25 yards

During the Insight Bowl, the other guy was telling the story of Archie Manning calling Rutgers' QB Ryan Hart after he'd been demoted to 2nd string mid-season. He told of their relationship which began when Hart was working at Manning's football camp in the summer. Mushberger's response was "that he's sure Hart must have picked up a few things while he was there". He thought he was a camper.
stuckincincy Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 In his defense, Mussburger was an excellent radio announcer. I am a bit surprised to see him back doing tv games...has he done any NFL games this season, or was he just there to work a bowl game?
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 You guys beat me to it. Musberger is the WORST announcer in all of sports, bar none. I'd rather listen to Myron Cope replays than that idiot.

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Randy Cross thanks you, as does Brent Jones. 549872 Oh, I haven't forgotten those twits, either. If I ever had the opportunity, I'd kick Randy Cross in the nuts.

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Okay, Eric. 549882 Hey, We Are....Going to see a win tonight!
R. Rich Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Hey, We Are....Going to see a win tonight! 549883 I'm just hoping it's not PP's swan song. I have a bad feeling that it is.

R. Rich Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 He'd be nuts if it wasn't. 549888 There's that word again.

smokinandjokin Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Tim McCarver or Brent (I am smooth so you should enjoy listening to me, no matter what I say) Musburger? 549719 There is no doubt in my mind McCarver is worse. An absolute schmuck is the only way to describe him. If we take this poll again next October, TM will win in a landslide.
Rico Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I have no problem with Musberger, he's a Big 10 homer!
colin Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 so who is a good announcer? I like Al micheals, i think he and madden go well together, and i didn't like madden back in cbs/fox
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I personally like Mike Patrick. If he hadn't been saddled with those two chowderheads, he might have been an all-time announcer.
R. Rich Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I like Patrick. I even get a kick out of the way Maguire picks on Theeeeeesman. He just doesn't know when to shut up, unfortunately.
