Bflojohn Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Chris Mortensen just said that the "buzz" is that Marv is going to ride to the rescue in Buffalo! Brought tears to my eyes! He is the face of winning for this franchise and I'm thrilled to hear about this news. Ralph Wilson and Marv are good friends and that might be the key to all of this, Ralph probably asked for Marv' advise, and got a proposal he couldn't refuse! Truly great news!!!

UpperDeck Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Maybe RW will ask Marv his opinion for straightening things out, GM and HC prospects, etc. I don't think he'll coach again, could possibly give him the GM position.

Marv was blessed with exceptional talent. It's nothing he did...
Adam Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Maybe on his next report he'll have Phil Savage will come too
puppet Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I think Marv could be a good Mentor to Ralph Wilson and give him solid advice on the next moves that we make. I don't see how it could hurt.
granitestatebillsbackers Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Kind of what Reeves is doing in Houston. Although he probably will snag one of the open coaching slots. Hey! Maybe we can get Dan Reeves! Wooooooooooooo!
UpperDeck Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I would prefer Marv's opinion on replacements over giving him a job but at this point anything is an improvement.
Talonz Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Why do coaches that win almost always are belittled for having great talent? It takes coaching+talent and a little luck.

JAMIEBUF12 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 maybe ralphie will adopt young marv .so when ralph leaves this planet marv can be our next owner! lol
Sound_n_Fury Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Come on now we all now if Marv gets the GM he'll name Bobby Ross HC. 549546 Chuck Dickerson for DC...
seq004 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I think he'll add him as an adviser which is a great idea. He really trust Marv and I think he'll be able to evaluate talent better than TD did.
stuckincincy Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Come on now we all now if Marv gets the GM he'll name Bobby Ross HC. 549546 Why would Ross leave Army? He's done his NFL thing; hard to think he'd care to come back to a job with whining players, daffy bosses, and impatient fans. Or was that sarcasm? One never knows...

That said I was indeed being a slight sarcastic with my response so guess should of ending it with [/sarcasm].

I don't recall why Ross left SD, but his replacement, Kevin Gilbride, did wonders for the poor Chargers.

I don't recall why Ross left SD, but his replacement, Kevin Gilbride, did wonders for the poor Chargers. 549602 I think it might of had something to do Gilbride's choice of OC, it was some guy named Mike Sheppard who ironically enough prior to that was a WR coach in Baltimore under Teddy Marchibroda who matter of factly gave Sheppard play-calling duties.
BillsWatch Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Chuck Dickerson for DC... 549551 Yes of Miami.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I have heard that Marv was actually brought in to help Ralph at Shuffleboard and Bridge, and in the middle of the last game, when his partner Ralph excused himself to go to the bathroom, Marv was overheard saying, "Thank God, old boy, that's the first time I'll know what's in your hand all afternoon!"
