JP says he asked if he could play

I'm listening to JP interview after the game on WGR 55 and it sounds like he was healthy enough to play. I'm paraphrasing it was something like "I tried to show the coaches I was ready to play. I went threw all the drills and felt fine but the coaches said were afraid he would get hit in a certain area and that was their decision but he was not happy with it." What a fuc&$#@ joke. As I thought he wasn't really hurt it was just MM's way of saying Holcomb would give me the best chance of a win, I hope he's gone.

Further proof what an embarassment TD and MM have made this Team...

Funny...Anyone think JP would have been allowed to contimue after that 2nd or 3rd INT?

:)

And if Losman played, got broken again and he was not able to participate fully the mob known as Bills fans and press would want to crucify him for turning him into a Todd Collins and starting him in a "meaningless" game behind another terrible OL.

Not necessarily. I'd be thinking "oh great, another RJ" and be thinking we need a new QB.

Thats what you get when you hire a Head Coach with management skills comparable to Bill Lumbergh...

Hello JP. What's happening? Um, I'm gonna need you go ahead and ride the bench Saturday at the Bengals. So if you could be there around nine, that would be great.

Oh, oh, yea…I forgot. I'm gonna also need you to ride the bench in New York on Sunday too. We, uh, lost some games this year and we need to sorta catch up. Thanks.

 Dude, I don't know how you came up with the best post of 2006 already, but hot dog, you did it.

I went to the game and was thinking the same thing. The passes weren't perfect and resulted in 'tip drills' for the Jets. Even that low throw to Shelton that he had to scoop a bit. These were passes that could have been handled, but weren't. Much like many of JP's throws that got him yanked.

Holcomb did surprise me with the way he locked into his primary. I was watching through binoculars and was trying to anticipate where he would end up throwing after 'looking off' the D so I could follow the pass. Sonofagun if he didn't wind up tossing it right where he was 'looking' many of the times. These weren't 3 step drop patterns either. Hey, we all make mistakes, but the Jets were all over this and it didn't stop. He could not have done this against Cincy, but whatever he did was scouted well by the Jets' D coaches.

The other very predictable throw was the short square-out from the 4-wide set with Shelton on the wing opposite Campbell who lined up on the LOS but between the OT and WR. The outside men would square-in about 10 yards and Shelton and Campbell would run the outs to the flats. After throwing to these guys 2 or 3 times, you may coax the OLBs upfield enough to hit those inside patterns. Well, to Mularkey and Clements credit it seemed to work, but Kelly kept throwing the short out. He had time to wait on the other route, but was making the throw to the area the D was sitting on. Yikes! If that was Losman I would have understood the coaches frustration, but this was the guy that gave them the best chance to win.

I tell you what really impressed me. April's use of Shelton, Denny and Anderson as the wedge on KO returns. STs have always been a favorite of mine, but I never thought of using such big bodies one line up from the returner. Very clever stuff. :)

You still have to play the guy Glenn. We didn't draft him to keep him on the pine. Young QB's most important learning curve is action in games and also we need to know if we have the right guy instead we go into next season not knowing who will be QB. It's another question mark on a team full of question marks. If he would have played him the last 2 games it sure would have helped.
