Hollywood Donahoe Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 is there any other criteria used in determining comp picks...such as defense going from 2nd to 140th after loss of "Fat Pat"? or O-Line being actually worse than last year after loss of JJ?...but seriuosly the stats show bills criticaly dropped in both categories... I'm not sure of specific criteria, but I imagine individual performance is focused on more than team performance.

The Jokeman Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 no compensatory pick for phat pat because he was an UFA not a RFAhttp://people.howstuffworks.com/nfl-draft1.htm UFA 2005 93 Pat Williams DT http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3117 someone correct me if i'm wrong on this 560550[/snapback] It's the net loss of UFAs, RFAs are given their own compensation by being Restricted to begin with. In terms of the exact formula, if it was known than we would know what we'd be getting but it's not. Though I expect the Bills to get a relative high (3rd or 4th) from the league for the loss of Pat due to 1)his salary 2)we didn't sign any free agent DTs 3)The free fall our D took with his loss 4)The talk of Pat being a Pro Bowl caliber player.
