ICE Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Out of his ass! You guys are fuggin pathetic. Go find someone else to root for. in the mean time the rest of us non bitchers / Non quitters will find the REALITY of yesterdays game wrapped up in this article... http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=2751 Here is a great quote... Starting 0-2 is all too familiar to Bills cornerback Troy Vincent. Last season, Vincent played for a Philadelphia Eagles team that started out 0-2 before getting to the NFC Championship game. The Eagles had difficulty scoring in their first two games and many experts believed their season was lost. However, the Eagles rallied after their bye week and beat the Bills on the road at Ralph Wilson Stadium and they never looked back on their way to an NFC East division title. Do we have problems? Yes. Was this predicted? Yes. When are the playoffs made? NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.

BF_in_Indiana Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 ICE I admire your posts and love reading them, but there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between Philly last year and us. Philly was a good team. They knew how to win. They had been to back to back NFC Title games. Their two losses were to TB (Defending World Champions) and NE (that years SB champions). The Bills on the other hand have lost at home to Jacksonville and now they have lost in a pathetic display to Oakland. This is a team without a clue of where they are going once again. The Eagles had a clue, that's the difference.
ICE Posted September 20, 2004 Author Posted September 20, 2004 This is a team without a clue of where they are going once again. Kinda like your fantasy team huh?
BF_in_Indiana Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 LOL ICE. LOL We are just saving ourselves for YOU!!!!!
Thailog80 Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 When McNabb lines up in back of Teague I'll feel much better about our chances. We came up a little short of your prediction yesterday didnt we?
Campy Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 ICE, I'm not as inclined to think the suicide-watch rantings are pathetic, but I do think they're boringly predictable - It's the same people every year. I wonder why some of these people even follow the Bills since every loss appears to be a life-shattering occurence. By their tone, after two consecutive losses I start to wonder how some of these people mustered the strength to get out of bed this morning...

KOKBILLS Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 When McNabb lines up in back of Teague I'll feel much better about our chances. We came up a little short of your prediction yesterday didnt we? 38459[/snapback] No doubt 0-2 does not mean a lot in the overall scheme of things. But I do believe there is a problem with comparing last years Eagles to this years Bills. In truth, the Teams do have similarities. Good Defenses, good Running Backs, etc. But there is one glaring difference between the 2 Teams, and I don't even have to say it because everyone in the Football universe knows what it is... The Eagles have a QB who can, at times, put the Team on his back and almost will them to victories. He can extend drives with his feet and he is as innovative as any QB in the NFL. The Eagles are never really out of a close Game as long as they have McNabb... Give the Bills McNabb (like you said T80) and I'll agree with the comparison 100%...
DeeRay Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Ice... you've been drinkin way too much Bledsoe koolaid... and that 30 second greeting with Donahoe has you star struck. zero and two smells bad, zero and four stinks. The wheels have fallen off this team. The defense still can't apply consistent pressure on the QB and has been beaten deep 3 times in two games. Offensively, the Bills scare no team. They are just pinning their ears back and saying... Bledsoe, beat us!! and he aint. Donahoe brought in Albatross Bledsoe and both need to be escorted out of town as soon as possible.
Mile High Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 I'll be the first one to B word about whoever it is not backing this team as a whole. But, I haven't seen any change at all with this offense that makes me happy. The oline looks a little better than last year.... thats it.. No leadership still on offense. They look sluggish and the play calling isn't terrible but it isn't great either. I'm glad they went for it on fouth and goal yesterday. If and only if they would've punched it in there would DEFINETLY be a completely different buzz on this board today. Is benching Bledsoe the answer? None of us know. Would it hurt to try Matthews out if Bledsoe continues to struggle? Well he certainly can't be worse at this point. All I know is that with the talent on this team we should be 2 and 0 right now heading into our bye week not 0 and 2. Are they going to turn it around the way Philly and the Pats did? We'll see.
nodnarb Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 do you think this team can beat the patriots in two weeks? if so, i'll take any bet. bledsoe can't get it done. i supported him long enough. if you can't see the data, you're not looking for it. It's there. He has no touch on short throws, he can't make plays out of nothing, he holds the ball too low, he still telegraphs where the ball is going, and throws too high and too low constantly, and he looks scared in the pocket. i'll take any bet.
AJ1 Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 This team??? is less than the sum of its parts. Need a QB with a little spark left to help. DB doesn't qualify, pure and simple.

Prior to losing those 2 games to start last season off (two losses to excellent teams BTW) the Eagles were 20-6 in their previous 26 games played, including two back to back NFC championship seasons. Meanwhile, we are a horrid 9-17 heading out of our 2 losses to start the season, including not even a whisper of a possible playoff berth.
billsfanone Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Did TD hand you some hush money when you ran into him or something? lol

Granted, once again, it's not all DB's fault...But all to often when he has time the throw is off target, too low, too high and hard (like the INT yesterday...and Drew admitted it was too high and too hard for Travis to handle), or not in the spot that will allow the Player to get yards after the catch...And granted the Bills have drops, but if you watch the Plays closely those balls are just slightly off target consistantly. Sure they are catches that need to be made, but Drew is surely not making them any easier... I was listening to a Peyton Manning interview yesterday before the Bills game in which he described exactly how and why he tends to throw the ball on target so often. And after watching Bledsoe yesterday it just furthered what I already knew...He can't get the Ball where it needs to be with any type of regularity. He could do it when he was younger, but that was a long, long time ago...

I have seen Bills teams worse than this, and much, much better. I am not going to ditch that for any one set of players. I do, however, reserve the right to question what they are doing sometimes. I have always supported Bledsoe, but am starting to have some concerns. I have always supported TD, but am starting to have some doubts. I will be a Bills fan, god willing, long after Bledsoe and TD are history. You do realize that the rah-rah article you are quoting is was from the Bills own web-site? (This is like Bagdad Bob telling us "There are no American troops in Bagdad, as American tanks drive by him in the backround.) Truth is, other than the 0-2 starts, this Bills team and last years Eagles have far less in common, than this Bills team and last years team do. It sucks, it is disappointing, but it will get better. It has to! TSW is a place for everyone to vent. Those who vent are no less "quitters" or "fuggin pathetic" than those who keep insisting everything is fine, when clearly it isn't. Ever think of asking GW for a job?

We have added the speed WR everyone said was needed We upgrade the guard position by replacing Brown with Villarrial DB has supposedly been "fixed" We now have WM to complement TH It's the "magical" 3rd year for Reed when all WR develop into good players Guess what....the offense is still pitiful. I must be looking in the wrong place for optimism??

We got a cap of I hear 12-14 million? Redue Moulds and a couple of others and shop our ass off for O line and a DE. This team is missing something dude, Its that missing link... New England has it now, Ravens had it, Tampa had it, Rams had it and they all got to the bowl and won.... We need that one thing....
